Trump is definitely the type of guy to put his interests before the country's. he complains about China because he can't gain the upper hand against them. let's say China did take up on his suggestion & dig up dirt on Biden. if they were to be successful, Trump would definitely reward them somehow, & use this opportunity to make amends at the country's expense.

Street smarts are not strong with you. Have you read one negotiating book? Do you honestly think China cares about what Trump says on twitter? Now if I were a country that was in a trade war with my single largest purchaser of stuffs what better way to reduce some level of tariffs without having to pay a cent. It doesn’t cost China a nickel to dig up dirt of Biden. So curry favor with Trump to get a better negotiating position on the tariff fight. It’s honestly not that difficult.

I don't think anyone would seriously deny that if China said, 'we have private investors willing to invest in the building of the biggest Trump Hotel and Casino complex, which will be the biggest such property in the world, and all we require is you drop all tariffs and stop your fight against Chinese company expansion and technology', that Trump would not make that trade in a heartbeat. Suddenly he would be as much a fan of them as he is the Saudi's.

We are back to tha which will soon swing back to 'he has every right to ask them to do it, if he wants to' which was tested last week in the news but obviously did not resonate well, so they swung back to 'he was joking'.

Funny that Russia DID respond to the request. That Ukraine said they will now do an investigation. That China said 'no, sorry we will not dop that and interfere'. But we are supposed to believe Trump is just joking.
