Why do they need to own it when they legally can build bases and put soldiers here?
US dont need to own it for security reasons as they have full access.

U.S does have agreement with Demnark that they does have some x meterological stations and bases in Greenland with unlimited number of forces and technique allowed to be stationed.
Because during world war 2 Canada and U.S had equipment and generators for radio stations and meteo stations etc in order to be used to support Lend Lease convoys.
In general nothing had changed.

However arfer Cold War U.S had reduced number of perssonel stationed in Greenland and didn't had increased this during 1 st Trump term as POTUS nor had increased this year 2025 th.

Greenland and some other for casuals " not important " areas were not only part of meteo and radio, also radar and sonar networks network. Heavily financed during Cold War.

SOSUS is very large passive and active sonars network to detect submarines.....

Trump till today de facto had increased 0.

So if missiles delivered then then $ will be paid.

However if to be clear soon Denmark voters will be more comfortable to hear more about deals offers from XI, because chinesse missiles are considerably cheaper and might be delivered quickly. Together with SAM systems too and without Vance and Trump & Witkopf. Only bonuses.
