Law Trump suggests possible reparations for Jan 6 Thugs

Gotta disagree here, it was mostly sentencing length that was the problem but they got a pardon. A couple of years for bum rushing the capital building is suitable imo. Giving them money would not set a good precedent
Should you pardon a dude that gave a female officer brain damage? How about pardoning those that committed violence on cops or the one who stole shit. Don’t get me started on the MAGa that shit in their hands to wipe on the walls.
Back the Blue is virtue signaling MAGA does at parties but they actually don’t believe it.
Trespassing should have been probation but let’s not pretend that is all that happened that day but that is disingenuous.

Not everybody was pardoned, nor should they be

What are you talking about he’s literally getting rid of many agencies and has fired countless people that go against him he’s even doing an anti trump policy so he can arrest ppl for acts of terrorism which is absolutely nuts he’s also targeting yiu tube channels that fact check him , you guys really need to get your head out of the sand . Smh

Should I really list what he’s ACTUALLY done so far ? Because if you say yes that means don’t have a functioning brain ? So what is is ? Yes or no ?

Yea go ahead and list it.

Most of it empty is posturing for the MAGA morons. Trump is not a king despite his threats. Did he get rid of DOE by EO? No....do you know what it will take? do you think that's likely?

He fired everyone at USAID and then all 6k employees were rehired with backpay.

They offered incentives to resign or retire to some agency employees. This one will likely stick but because it's voluntary it's not illegal.

Don't get me wrong they are applying pressure directly and indirectly and some spineless institutions are buckling to avoid losing federal funding. But even that can be challenged in courts and if they had any balls (and some do) will be settled in courts.

You said he didn’t do anything yet. .Sounds to me like he did a lot ,? Do you even know what your argument is ? You said he made no action so far and will wait what are you you waiting for he literally broke several laws in just 3 weeks in office and you called it a bluff what are you talking about ?

Yea...I said I don't get upset by empty posturing. Trump mostly postures whether verbally or at times through executive orders which are illegal and quickly get overturned. My point was more to do with the verbal posturing. I understand he has done shit that I disagree with and on those topics I have already weighted in/ stated my opinion. Elsewhere I discussed my disdain for his tariff policies as an example. I am not sure what exactly your issue is with what I said? Did Trump administration start sending reparation checks to Jan 6 persons or was that just his verbal diarrhea? I suspect it will not happen. It's going to be no different than Hillary's emails and 'lock her up' promises.

You clearly don’t understand how actual disruptions of the system works one does not need to follow through with threats , the crazy threats themselves effect everyone, it doesn’t matter what will happen the fact he’s going ahead and challenging the legal system is weakening it ,you need to act think what your posting …….bc it’s nonsense.

You are going to get placed on a mental health hold if you get triggered by everything Trump does. Trump has technically threatened war on three countries. I don't know what to tell you. I am not minimizing the stupidity that Trump does but I am also trying to save my outrage for huge things.

Trump taking no disciplinary actions against Waltz and Hegseth is nuts. I am also simply amazed by the MAGA deflections and minimizations. This is probably the biggest thing to happen.

Tariffs are going to tank US economy but Trump can do it.

I was upset at Democrats and Schumer for their dereliction of their roles in tariff approval...but if our elected leaders can't be bothered to do their fucking jobs then what do you expect from me? The alternative would also have been very bad...with government shutdown...

Anyone who sits in prison for an excessive amount of time without trial should be entitled to compensation. Or do you guys not believe in the right to a fair trial ?
This is libtard central, they still believe the Jan 6’ers killed a bunch of police officer that day.

I want reparations for wasting four years of my life and tax dollars on yet another waste of time congressional inquiry where there is zero resolution to anything.

Something to consider

Many were held for months and in some cases years while suffering physical and mental abuse from their captives without charges.

Sentencing was clearly excessive in many other cases

It’s probably only a few but there are some who are probably entitled to compensation.

Let's see you define 'excessive' and then some us examples of these Jan 6 scumbags being locked up for an excessive amount of time without trial.

Show me. Who, specifically? I recommend you get together with Lycandroid and see what you can come up with. Bonus question: can you do it without using the NY Post for evidence?

This thread might help you in your quest.

That page and the pages following have some pretty good info, like these posts,

The suggestion that a huge number of people were held without due process was beaten into a little wet spot of cope. It will be fun to watch you two die on the same hill.

Ok, let's say you're not lying, for the sake of argument. Specifically, who was held in custody for an excessively long time w/out a trial. If there are lots of them it should be easy.
Well? We're waiting. Show me who was held for an excessively long time without trial.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday floated the possibility of financial compensation for people who were prosecuted for taking part in the riot at the Capitol in 2021.

Speaking to Newsmax on Tuesday night, Trump said he had taken “care” of his supporters who attempted to overturn his 2020 election loss and added there is “talk” about compensating them.

“A lot of the people that are in the government now talk about it because a lot of the people in government really like that group of people,” he said, referring to the Jan. 6 defendants, who he described as protesting “peacefully and patriotically.”

Some of the freed Jan. 6 rioters and their advocates, such as Ed Martin, whom Trump appointed to be the top federal prosecutor in Washington, have long called for financial reparations for those who took part in the Capitol attack, many of whom subsequently spent time behind bars.

The president also described himself as a “big fan” of Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed by a Capitol police officer as she attempted to climb through a shattered window into the Speaker’s Lobby.

“Ashli Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there, they even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd,” Trump said. “And a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her.”

Asked whether he would take action against the officer who killed Babbitt and is still employed in Capitol law enforcement, Trump said he would “take a look at it.” U.S. Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd was investigated by the Justice Department for the shooting and cleared of any wrongdoing.

Trump’s blanket pardon for his supporters fulfilled one of his key campaign pledges, though he had previously stopped short of promising monetary compensation. The president signed an order on his first day in office granting clemency to about 1,500 rioterswho were prosecuted for taking part in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, including hundreds convicted of assaulting police, carrying firearms and destroying property.

Part of me thinks this is criminally genius of trump, whether intentional or not

These insurrection perpetrated crime the behest of trump, some said they were prepared to kill the VP for upholding the constitution

If you absolve fanatics of crime while conflating their allegiance with patriarchy, you cement an unwavering cult following

They will do anything for you, break any law, commit any uncivil or criminal deed and take your word as "truth" and deem in justifiable because trump told them.

Its horrifying this is happening in the US in 2025

Well? We're waiting. Show me who was held for an excessively long time without trial.
I already showed you and you ignored the article even though you quoted the post, then when I called you on it you ran away in your pissed filled diaper.

I havent heard about police being killed.

I read beaten

But more important than anything else, the insurrectionists tried to usurp the democratic process at the behest of a former president

an unprecedented act of treason that was condemned by all supporters of democracy

Not just "dA lIbtArds"

Remember republicans like Cheney, Kizinger lead the bipartisan investigation into Jan 6th
