I wouldn't say it's not going to be my problem but I've always felt that sealing up the border and taking out the cartels is necessary for Mexico to take the next step in progressing past its narco state depression. Its a much needed painful excision of a cancer that's held the country back

Down by the river by Charles Bowden (one of my favorites on this subject) tries to put a number on the drug commerce between the US ad Mexico in numbers from 20-50 years ago...its astonishing, insurmountable I would say...My only point is that an intervention is needed; I don't think Mexico can do it on its own.

Advocating for war with Mexico is idiotic...I am in favor of labeling cartels as terrorists so more options can be had in dealing with them. This also opens up tools to tackle the financial aspect...you could deal with banks that launder cartel money in a different way such as treating them as agents for terrorists which is where much of lifeblood of the cartels comes from. US banking institutions get a slap on the wrist for money laundering

Cartels have a higher annual GDP on their own than Ukraine did prior to the invasion. You brought that up yourself. Declaring war on the cartels is declaring war on a country that's right on our border.

Its worse than that; Mexico's entire GDP from drugs is estimated at 5-20 percent depending on what year the study comes out...cause how the fuck can you estimate it...but its a significant part of the economy...
