But why was he named ATF director in the first place? I don't get it.

lol
I'm confused by your post.Again why Florida and who did the off loading? Who doing the inspecting?, I am supposed to trust what is going on now? Yeah no all the inspectors have been fired Pam this world can claim anything now. All I know is it could be bags full of garbage.
lol
We're talking about 2 enormous jobs. Was it the first time a President named one man for these 2 jobs?
Do you think Driscoll is a good choice? I don't know him. I only know one thing: the ATF has been a scary arm of the government for a long time.
It's been a wet dream for gun nuts to abolish the ATF. Maybe they are starving the beast. They know it will satisfy their base while they steal from Americans.I think I should recuse myself from ATF commentary here. Hilariously enough, Driscoll already has another post, too! Secretary of the Army, lol. I believe they are going to merge it with another agency, most likely the DEA.
I remember video circulating on here and other places from like 4 years ago with coastguard or some similar group going after bootleg submarines shipping drugs. The agents involved had balls steel, ripping open the opening.
Found the video, tweet is from 2023, but the video is as old as 2021 (maybe older?)

What people wanthim to politicizehis role other than himself? He hasn't gone after anything new or different than any of his predecessors...if you're looking for a kudos for doing the same as his predecessor thank ok I guess job well done?I mean, that's why I'm asking. People want Patel to politically weaponize the FBI, arrest Democrats en masse, and otherwise cause liberal tears. Instead, he has gone after drug trafficking, gang activity, and violent crime. I guess he got kind of snappy with some rando Congresswoman during the Signal leak scandal hearing, but I can't fault his annoyance at even being summoned considering he has nothing to do with military operations on the other side of the planet and wasn't even part of the chat group.
It's not like we know what he's doing behind the scenes, either. What we do know is his rhetoric, like you've brought up.What people wanthim to politicizehis role other than himself? I don't know if it should be abolished, but it certainly needs a reset. It's been a wet dream for gun nuts to abolish the ATF.
In what way in your opinion?I don't know if it should be abolished, but it certainly needs a reset.
They have weird priorities. They have a huge budget, but don't accomplish much. They'll go after a guy who made a few silencers, but won't do much when it comes to real gun crimes. They'll catch a gun trafficker here and there, but are generally inefficient. In what way in your opinion?

Biggest accomplishments: once a decade they're part of a major fuck-up.
Yeah, it's good that they made this catch, but it's not like it's rare, and AGs don't usually come out for a photo op. It was smart by the admin, though. Anything to deflect attention from the shitshow.Couple of thoughts:
Where did Pam Cunti get her hands on 500M worth of drugs to plant?
or
Was Mar a Lardo raided again? That's a lot of coke.
Seriously... if it's an actual capture.... that's a nice win for a generally lawless administration.
It's a shortsighted vision. The US has done plenty of great operations in the past with the collaboration of foreign governments. They can smoke out the vermin if they take their time. The FBI has proven patience pays off.
Give info to a man and see if your operation is burned. Give info to another man and see if your operation is burned. It's a slow process, but it pays out. Drone strikes will look good, but they won't solve anything in this case.
Trump has to look like a friend, not a jerk who feels like he can do anything.
Yep, the process I describe is years and years in the making. There's no quick solution to a problem that runs so deep.the process you describe is years and years in the making and unrealistic

Please tell me what drone strikes will accomplish.
