I got a crazy idea, and this is just spitballing so hear me out...but anyone think Trump is trying to influence the Fed into artificially, and perhaps detrimentally, propping up the economy with some random "keep it good" date in mind...let's call it November 2020? Seems possible.
Can you cite an example not named Sean Hannity?

"Don't believe these phony numbers," Trump told supporters early last year. "The number is probably 28, 29, as high as 35 [percent]. In fact, I even heard recently 42 percent."
“I know it’s frustrating to him to see the Fed prop up the Obama economy for eight years at zero interest rates as Obama’s tax and regulatory policies strangled the American economy,” Santorum said on CNN. “And as soon as Trump comes in and un-strangles the economy, well the Fed comes in and tries to tighten it.”Actually here’s some vomit Santorum sprayed out of his vile lying mouth
“It looks like under Obama, the Fed was all for propping up this big socialist gambit that Obama was pushing. And now that we have a strong market-based president, it seems like the Fed is doing everything they can to constrain growth.”
Mind you Santorum said that after 7 years of a strong economy, whitewashing Obamas tenure as the president and his strong economy after the Bush years.
Too late to cover your blunder, unfortunately. Should have read it all before posting.Santorum also said

The real gem is “obamas tax and regulatory policies strangled the American economy”
That’s after 7 years of straight growth after the disaster that was W Bush.
Republicans are slime.

That doesn't sound like someone who opposes low interest rates.

ROFL, please. You self-owned.You asked what republicans and I named them.
Santorum
Perry
Romney
Even Paul Ryan
ROFL, please. You self-owned.
First, Santorum's comments that you just quoted are from December 2018, bud. Second, he isn't complaining about low interest rates as if they're a bad policy. He's complaining that the Fed kept them low for Obama, to his benefit, but not for Trump.
Would it kill you guys to post from acquired knowledge rather than Googline furiously for examples that don't substantiate your claims? It's pathetic how little you know.
It's crazy how far he stretches numbers. He started with an exaggerated 28% and got it all.the way up to 42% with an anonymous source.Nah, bro.
Trump's just telling it like it is.
Like when he said the unemployment rate under Obama was over 40%.

If I didn't poke you this stuff wouldn't come out. I think it's hilarious.Go troll someone else.
All the names I listed complained during the Obama years.

Everyone seems to overlook the nature of changing strategies depending on the economy. We aren't in a recession, anymore. I think it's hilarious to mock you guys for trying to forward outrage over hypocrisy when that doesn't exist for this issue. If you don't agree with Republicans said in 2015, or earlier, fine, but it's stupid to misrepresent their position on the Fed.
Yep. That was repeated so much that a noob like me actually thought it was true, at least for a while.Remember the lie Republicans (including Trump) told about the unemployment rate under Obama? That the 'real' unemployment rate was actually in the double digits, or some nonsense like that? They never complain about it any more.
Oh yes....you are far too smart to be deceived. People with absolute power and money really love you, they care about you. Greed doesn't exist. Everything they tell you is for your own good. Sleep....sleeeeep.
Are you saying all this with a straight face as a Trump supporter. Trump who is a billionaire trust fund baby with the richest cabinet in the history of the US. He must be a special kind of billionaire who isn't greedy and does care about you though, right?
