Good thing he wants to get rid of the Department of Education
Wow, you understand the US so well. You're ready to become a citizen.Isn't that a state issue?
Anyways, that's one thing Trudeau got right.
Because the party is still in power. Same diff in the states, if the President steps down(or gets their brains blown out). All that really matters is the official election date.how the fuck does the party get to pick who the next prime minister will be? that annoys me.
In more ways than one. Why do politicians in power get to call early elections? Because. That's why. It's totally unfair and stupid, but that's how we roll.but that's the way canadian politics works i guess.
A best of both worlds type healthcare is kind of what Obama was pushing with the public option, but that was nixed and we got the current form of the ACA, which even that our current president campaigned on repealing twice now.We go back and forth. Trudeau was an answer to 9 or so years of Conservative rule, which was an answer to a long Liberal party rule.
More of a balance. Allow private healthcare for the people who can afford it, and keep the public sector open for people who can't. It's actually pretty fair all in all. There's a reason why people who can afford it go down to the US, if they're diagnosed with some awful shit. The public sector is good for run of the mill shit, that won't bankrupt you over a broken arm, but not so great if you've got some terminal shit, as you may die in the waiting room. I see no problem in opening up the private sector here.
Not believing carbon tax is the way to fix climate change is fair imo, but currently we have over 100 members of Congress that don't believe climate change even exists, and our president has called its a hoax in the past.More of denying the "solution", which is just the carbon tax bullshit that does nothing but take from us and solves nothing. It's not so much denying climate change, but acknowledging that the so called solutions just lines the pockets of politicians and hurts everyone else.
It wasn't really a good example of democracy because it was decided by unelected judges re-interpreting a previous established decision... but I'll agree to disagree. The point though is if its not big issue of political contention between your libs and conservatives, then you are you are probably left of Republicans on this.Nobody banned abortion at the federal level. It just went back to the states. I believe the abortion states outnumber the non-abortion states. That's called democracy. It's really not an issue up here. The church and state thing is just you being hysterical. It's really not an issue at all up here either(or down there), except for Quebec, which is the only province that is hardcore about that shit, as they ban religious symbols of all kinds everywhere. The rest just go with the flow.
