Ankalaev's dominant hugfest doesn't put him in the ranks of Loma or Usyk ffs.
Let's be honest. These crazy Russians, gerorgians, Ukrainians etc are a different gravy
It isn't just mma. Look at usyk, bivol, beterbiev and lomachenko more recently.
Mexicos won more championships than any other country in the last 35 years and 2nd for most all time.Japan has 2 of the top 10 p4p boxers in the world right now and like 10 world champs lmao. Latinos and African Americans were never superior to the rest of the world in boxing, the market and promotions/promoters all just exist for the western world. It's why guys like Khaosai Galaxy and Chris John just got ignored their entire title runs...They wouldn't pay them shit to fight in the US, nobody cared about them in the western world because they weren't Spanish or English speaking and they made millions filling up arenas in their home countries while guys avoided them. Boxing is crooked, MMA is also kinda crooked like this but people don't realize...there's so much elite talent that doesn't get signed because they're from the wrong countries. When the iron curtain fell and guys in Russia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe could box along with central Asians...yup, the Americas don't look so untouchable all of a sudden. UK boxing is shockingly good though, to be honest.
You asked what combat sports China excels at and I listed some of their champions. And your response is that you just disregard them because you think it's a joke or not a real sport. Weird logic. What major combat sports does China excel at? Wrestling, freestyle or greco? Boxing? Muay Thai? Sambo? Judo? Kickboxing? BJJ? No Gi?
Yeah China has invested in boxing for the last two decades or so and still they yield very little talent, but they do definitely yield some professionally and have gotten some Olympic medals. K-1 has largely been a joke as far as Kickboxing goes for years now so again, that's not saying much. And I just disregard women's MMA, its not really a sport, we are talking a pathetically shallow talent pool.
you don't have a single person in those countries acting like a fruitcake like you do in north america
It's because those parts of the world have NOTHING going for them. These guys only have one way out of the nightmares that their countries are. Fighting.
I'm not talking about the 'people' in those parts of the world. They're actually quite nice. Every person I've met from a former Soviet Bloc country has been a gentleman.
Those parts of the world are run by the scum of the Earth, though. You can't get anything done in Azerbaijan without petitioning the ruling family directly. The same goes for Chechnya, Khazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc. etc. They're steeped in the worst kinds of corruption.
This was talked about in Creed II. There's a reason why that part of the world produces so many killers.
They don't have a choice:
It's the same thing that was true for Black Americans for a VERY long time. Boxing still has a large Black fanbase because Boxing was one of the only ways out of violent inner city ghettos. Still is, actually.
So, their 'mentality' is in the DNA? but, not their physicality????? and bone/muscle density???Let's be honest. These crazy Russians, gerorgians, Ukrainians etc are a different gravy
It isn't just mma. Look at usyk, bivol, beterbiev and lomachenko more recently. These dudes have a mentality that is tougher than the rest. It's like it's in their dna. The States and Brazil are still great fighting countries. Also the uk/Ireland and new Zealand/Australia, but these eastern European dudes are just built different. I expect many more champions in combat sports from this region in the near future
the gays over there act like normal people, not performative clowns. They still act like men. Masculinity isn't demonized in the slightest. What fucking eastern Euro crack are you smoking?
