Ooh hit him again then.He was.
Topuria is the hardest hitting FW of all time lol, of course it's going to translate well. Lack of power isn't what is going to hurt him.It will be interesting to see how his power translates into the LW division.
Conor obviously being an example of how it doesn't translate very well against bigger guys.
Keen to see if Top really does have that generational technique/power or if he was just a "weight bully" at FW.

McGregor isn't that type of puncher. He did ok for himself against bigger guys anyway.
Not exactly, but after DC won the HW belt he was obviously too fat to make LHW any more and was refusing to defend that belt so got stripped.
(Also he didn't want to defend at LHW because the UFC told him to defend against Jones or Gus and he didn't want to lose)
No I think he has made the determination that fighting Movsar Evloev is not good for his career.

I find the 'weight bully' label tiresome because it shifts all responsibility onto the individual fighter. In the end, if someone makes weight, they make weight.WTF is this weight bully fucking bullshit anyway? It is part of the damn game. Some people are going to be better at it than others, just like every other skill or genetic trait. I mean, if someone started training five years earlier than they guy they are fighting should we start calling them "experience bullies" or something similar? I have no idea why, on board where people claim to be fight fans there is more bitching about everything a fighter does than productive discussion.

Having said that, I find the practice of weight cutting (especially the extreme cuts that some make) to be an embarrassment to combat sports. It is ridiculous that someone needs to weigh 'x' a day or so before an event, but can then blow up to whatever their capabilities allow by fight time.
We are tuning in to see who the best fighter is on a given night...who is the more accomplished weight cutter should not be a factor. It is not uncommon to see 15%+ gains by fight time. It is a truly shameful component of the game, IMHO.
One response to this position is that 'well, everyone can do it, so it's not unfair'. Ok...but that same logic would apply to steroids and other PEDs, yet we see fit to ban them (for very good reasons, such as health and the message it sends down the ranks and age groups). Well, weight cutting (especially extreme cutting) is extremely unhealthy and often dangerous too...so the same logic should apply there. Stamp it out.
