Tom Aspinall Willing to 'Fight Absolutely Anyone' if Undisputed UFC Title is at Stake

In response to all my fans, if Tom was really the guy then he should stop holding the interim belt hostage and smash everybody up until he forces Jons hand. Right now, he's not really got much strong ground to stand on no matter how much you all fellate him.

Pointless, Aspinall wrecks them all, including Jones.
I think so too ; Jones' weakness has always been accurate boxers. Aspinall's a top level jiu jitsu guy and hes huge so I don't think he gets bullied in the grappling but who knows. I feel like the striking would be one-sided tho.

Undefeated?

Pavlovich was on enough of a knockout run to make him the number 1 contender, but acting like everyone thought he was incredibly skilled is mixing the difference between analysis and hype. All first round knockouts is very exciting, but it's not some proof for some all rounded game. Everyone remembers how Shane Carwin went. And no one forgot how Pavlovich was beaten by Overeem.

And Aspinall hasn't won a fight longer than 6:09. Getting quick finishes is certainly exciting, but it hardly means you're well-rounded - just look at Ronda. You can look like that most unstoppable force in the world until you don't.

I often ask this, and I don't know that I've ever gotten a satisfactory answer. How, exactly, does Aspinall beat Jones? He's not going to outwrestle him. He's not going to outstrike him. He's not going to win a five-round decision. He's not going to submit him. And if he can knock out Jones, he'll be the first one to do so in 17 years. So what's Aspinall's path to success here?

Probably via knockout considering people who have not been knocked out have been knocked out eventually.
Not to say he would do it. But thats probably his best avenue all things considered.

Anyways the fight wont happen so I guess Ciryl Gane or Kuniev would be the choice if he gets past Blaydes. Nemkov if they were to sign him would be good. Theres also Jailton Almeida and Derrick Lewis that he hasnt beaten. Don Tell Mays and Walter Walker are also rooming in shadows waiting to get their shots.

HW truly is an elite of the elite division!

Maybe the company in charge of all this stuff should do something?

What can they do?? You don't think the UFC is doing everything they can to make this fight happen? They can't really strip Jon right now in the middle of negotiations and when he just fought in November.

WTF are you talking about?? No ground to stand on? That' sa pretty dumb thing to say.

Tom just defended the interim title, which shouldn't be necessary to do. And he's already beaten half the top 10. The interim belt is nothing more than a temporary champion while the actual champ is out, Jon was never out and was fighting Stipe. Now there is no reason to keep Tom waiting. It's on Jon to take this fight ASAP. He's not injured, Tom is the clear #1 contender and interim champ, whats the hold up?

They could strip Jon whenever they wanted. They could book a fight for Tom and say that the winner will be the new undisputed champ.

They could but you very well know it's not in their best interest to do that. You can't really strip the current champion, considering it's Jon Jones off all people right in the middle of talks for a fight. Now if those goes on and on, then yah, they should strip him.

Perhaps they're waiting on Perreira/Ankalaev. Maybe Jon will just drop the belt and fight Alex at LHW. I think we'll have more clarity after this weekend.

Jon is holding the division hostage. He’s right at the edge of losing most of his fan base. I guess sociopath’s don’t care. It’s a shame because the fight would be insane.

So was Pavlovich. Until he wasn't.
Yeah - and Aspinall clearly proved he was a level above Sergei when he KTFO'd him in a minute.

This is actually incredible how much Aspinall triggers Jones fanboys.

Aspinall looking like Chandler waiting for McGregor right now, grow up kid.
Big difference. Chandler's not UFC champ mateiral and lost to every good guy he fought.

Aspinall's climbed his way to the top, separated himself from the rest of the competition to the point where only 1 fight makes sense.

Terrible comparison.

this gotta be one of the weakest trollposts I’ve ever came across on Sherdog ever

Try a little harder brother

There's zero regulations or anything official regarding championships. Dana could declare Tom the undisputed champ and demote Jon to interim until he agrees to fight Tom.

He could, but like I said, it's not in their best interest to do that now. So it's just not going to happen. It would be a bad business move.

He should fight anyone and as much as he could for the Interim, it will get ridiculous to rack title defenses while the UFC refuses to strip Jones who wont fight him.
Jon last fought in November meanwhile Tom hasn't fought since July.

Yet we're going to strip Jon?

Jones isn’t even the champ anymore to the realists, he’s undisputed champ to the delusional ones.
You do realize if Jon does get stripped then Tom's fighting someone like Gane for the title right.

Really solidify Tom as the "real" champ to beat the guy Jon already beat for his title that's "fake" according to you guys.

Can only imagine the hilarity if Gane instead wins and you're forced to try and argue he's the real champ instead of Tom like you'd planned.
