Pereira said that in the Ariel show. Dana said he offered the Alex Pereira fight to Tom. Tom said "I think Pereira should fight Ankalaev next before moving up".

That's as far as you can go. No one can show bout agreement. Your can't show any bout agreement from JJ and Tom. You have Tom saying "let's set a date. Sign the contract". That's as good as Pereira saying "the UFC offered the fight, he didn't want it". Who will you believe?

He was responding to the possibility of a White House event against Jones. I think Tom has earned the right to be skeptical of Jones fighting him at this point, let alone at the White House.

To say he hasn't spent any time thinking about it and that fans shouldn't because it is false hope is very clear indication that he does not think this will happen.
