Who is king of the 70s?

  • The Godfather

  • Jaws

The Godfather is the better "film".... having said that very few people know how to appreciate "films"... so the "king" movie of the 70s in my opinion would be Jaws simply because its the easier movie that more people would enjoy

The Godfather hit home for me because I have two brothers, and I was the youngest, so the interactions between the siblings and each other and the siblings in the father I thought was really interesting to watch
 
Jaws is the king. I don't even think there can be much of a debate of which one had the bigger influence on the world or the film industry. Mighty Mouse may be the better fighter, but Stipe would still kick his ass.

Jaws is more entertaining but the Godfather is obviously the better film. It's like comparing a cheeseburger to a Porterhouse steak.
 
For a second there, I thought this thread was about italian mob vs jews.
 
Jaws has terrorized generations of people. Taking away the simple pleasure of a bath. It's a pop culture icon but The Godfather has a much better story.

I think you view might be different if start watching the 2nd before the 1st. Try watching in that order. The third film doesn't exist.

Sorry. I will never get over all the schmoes who actually flooded IMDB after that movie came out to put it above the iconic movie which is The Godfather.

That was about as much of a "Fuck This Gay Earth" moment as there will ever be.

Neither of them and there is no king of the 70s. The 1970s is absolutely loaded with stone cold classic films. Apocalypse Now, Alien, Godfather Pt II, The Deer Hunter, A Clockwork Orange, The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The French Connection, Rocky, and on and on.
