The Godfather vs Jaws

I think Jaws is Spielberg's best while The Godfather is not Coppola's best (that would be Apocalypse Now), but I still like The Godfather more than Jaws.

It would be pretty difficult for me to pick just one film from Spielberg, but if I had to it wouldn't be Jaws. Jurassic Park would probably be the one, though Last Crusade has more meaning for me personally.

Godfather 1 and 2, Jaws and Schindler's List are four god-tier movies from two directors.

Godfather is more overrated than scarface which is hard to do. Jaws imo and it isn't close.

Funny how Godfather seems to get more respect as a film, seemingly out of some standards of artistic merit. Or is it just because it's a drama with people in nice houses, clothes, and cars vs. a scary movie with characters made to look as if they smell of fish?

The Jaws theme is iconic so it's tough to pick Godfather. Acting to me is a push. Story for Godfather is more complex, so there's that. Couldn't even begin to evaluate the cinematography, but both looked great to me. Bottom line is I'd skip right past Godfather when channel surfing but Jaws would get watched until the end.

Honest to god we talk about movies like star wars, godfather, whatever you want to throw out where they had big cultural impact.

I honest to god don't know of a movie that touched people like Jaws. All the beach towns in the country nearly went bankrupt because of it lol

Jaws is my top three. But godfather is my top two.

They found the uss indianapolis the other day. Had to watch jaws when i read that.

That scene may be the best in film history though.
