Strength training for the puny

I rolled up a frying pan, it was an old one I found in a box of stuff I was throwing out, sides got flattened in and the back bowed out, but I couldn't get the sides to meet, videoed it but probably won't bother posting it until I do one i'm happy with.

You know, I hate bowling. It's a silly game, and generally played in a bowling alley, which I have found to be congregation points for just about everything I like least in humanity. The idea of going to a bowling alley just to throw an over-heavy ball at some perfectly innocent pins set much too far away is enough to make me want to hit something.

I did a great deal of thinking about the source of this hatred a few years back, and concluded that it all started about halfway through my High School career, when I went bowling with some friends. Among said friends was a guy who was a very, very good bowler, and who not only beat the snot out of the rest of us, but at one point, started complaining about bowling "the wrong kind of strike."

Now you've rolled up a frying pan, but aren't posting a video because you don't think it was rolled up enough.

Now I hate frying pans.

And you.

So if you tried to set a PR in bench and it only went halfway up, would you post that and say it was sort of benched?

One day you'll find something you're good at and you'll strive for something other than mediocrity, then you'll understand.

BTW I am of course fucking with you, the other reason is I spent an hour looking for my St W's t-shirt and can't find the fucker, I know it's here somewhere, just not sure where. Will go and look for a cheap frying pan at tescos tomorrow and then post a video of a decent rollup.

Decent rollup?

To continue your argument by analogy: if it were at a weight that no one else around had even attempted and the effort was good, yes. Total number of rolled frying pans in the S&P, either partially or fully: 0. Even a partially rolled skillet may serve as an inspiration to a new generation of Sherdog pan-rollers. :)

One day you'll find something you're good at and you'll strive for something other than mediocrity, then you'll understand.

Sadly, all the things that I am good at are ones that required next to nothing in terms of striving. A good chunk of the reason that I continually humiliate myself in the weight room week in and week out is the desire to become moderately good at something that I didn't just start out being good at.

...

...

I still know where to find you, boy. Don't make me round up a sack full of badgers and fly over there. Getting them through customs will make the badgers very, very angry. You won't like them when they're angry. :)

Okay here you go:

Me partway through rolling up frying pan.

End result, not really very rolled up.

A little practice and some form work will do wonder for this trick. I learned a lot from today (number one thing don't do it the day after ME benchpress)

Talking about things which must be there but are not. My liftstrong bracelet disappeared one day after I got it. IT must be somewhere but I couldnt find it yet.

Walking backwards carrying a sofa overhead is a great exercise; as is moving all the furniture in your house three times a day, every day. May workout properly tonight and post it, got some minor tweaks and soreness that's pissing me off so it may well be a rather restricted workout.

Benched a bit, did some squats, did some one-leg deadlifts, some pistols, some pinch grip work, then some assisstance and prehab shite. Finshed with gripperage and levering.

Can't even be bothered to write it up.

Wait... is there still training going on in this log?

Blow me; I'm moving house, trying to get my wrist sorted out, liase with the army to sort out when I'll be joining if I do need surgery, find a job if I can't join the army immediately and still train and post here - I forgot my training log so I didn't post exact numbers, but my working set's still ended up being singles at 90% of my maxes for squat and bench and set new PRs on one legged deadlift (triple with BW).
