Shouldn't Edwards vs Muhammad be a HUGE event?

Lol at prestige. Belal has a way better resume than Colby. In fact Belal has a better case for a title shot than Leon himself when he got the Usman fight.
Colby had 1 pro loss before he fought for the title, and had a ton of success with wrestling through his mma career.

Belal took numerous losses and won only boring fights in his ufc career. He only recently established himself as a top contender (and now it’s too late because he’s already 36)

What I meant was Usman was the longtime best wrestler at welterweight, followed by Colby… and now followed by Belal. And age wise it even goes backwards now.

Colby's last 3 wins are an 0-2 Masvidal, an 0-2 Woodley, and an 0-2 Lawler. The last time he beat anyone not on a losing streak was was 5 years ago. Belal is on a 9 fight win streak with 3 top 5 wins. He's on a better UFC run than Colby has never been at any point in his career. Belal should have been fighting for a title 2 years ago. What's funny is Colby has a worse UFC record at this point.

It will sell well ... People underestimate fans from outside the states...

UK will come out for Leon and Palestine/muslims which the UK has alot of ..will come for Belal ..

It might not sell as well in the states...but i mean its a UK champion ...

Book it in England so you sell out the arena. And load the card so you can sell ppv's. Best shot they have to make money.

They've never done that for reason. It just doesn't make much sense

I don't know - does Edwards and Belal usually draw good #'s when they fight?
Edwards Usman 3 sold out the O2 for a 8.5mil gate, and was predicted to have done very well on buys, but they don't release that shit, so who knows? Likely somewhere in the 500k - 1 mil range

If Edwards vs Muhammad took Place in the O2 Arena in london how would that NOT be a major attraction?

Edwards is from the UK so there you have a hometown champion, Then you have an incredible dense Muslim population in London, who will certainly support a guy named "Belal Muhammad".

North American's may not care because lets be honest, both fighters are terribly boring both in and out of the cage. Most of us see this as an inevitable title fight we dont even care to see, just want them to fight and get it over with so we can see shavkat fight for the title.

But in the UK, This fight would have all the makings of being a massive event.

Why isn't it discussed as a huge fight with lots of earning potential?

Cause what it matters is how many PPV they can sell. And nobody is paying to see that.T
Tickets are only a small percentage of the profit.

Well it's a fight you have to make so just make it atleast in a place people want to watch it and market the hell out of it over there

Just because a fighter is English (Leon) doesn't mean England will go crazy over him.

Just because a fighter is Muslim (Belal) doesn't mean Muslims will go crazy over him.

It's not just about identity- charisma matters too. Otherwise it takes a lot of accomplishments to build up starpower.

because it's not.

there’s tons of other upcoming cards it could go on where there wouldn’t be backlash

301 in Newark
302 IFW (co-main to something else)
Or 303 manchester

Are all better options than the300 main event
302 is Newark I think.

Colby had 1 pro loss before he fought for the title, and had a ton of success with wrestling through his mma career.
And then Colby got losses and stopped getting wins. And eh, no, he didn't have tons of success with his wrestling, he had tons of success when he started backing up his wrestling with some out of nowhere high volume striking, ironically around the time he started coining the phrase "CEO of EPO." And even then "ton of success" is arguable, considering Stun Gun was a serviceable name at best with no wrestling, Maia was 40 with no takedowns, RDA was a great win against a great opponent (though somewhat undersized), and the shine was already off of Lawler, considering how recently he lost to RDA, making it a backwards stepping fight.

Belal took numerous losses and won only boring fights in his ufc career. He only recently established himself as a top contender (and now it’s too late because he’s already 36)
"Numerous." Yeah, I guess 3 IS a number, that's very sharp of you. I'm sure no one has ever deserved a title shot with 3 losses. Especially when two of those losses were against guys who have been ranked for the past 5 years, and one of them was avenged.

And, oh only boring fights? Yeah, cool, you check out any of Colby's amazing knockout reels? How long is that youtube video?

He established himself as a top contender 2 years ago, and has been waiting for his chance since.

Because PPV potential is dictated on global sales rather than local hype or attendance. Crowd in the UK might love it but numbers wise it won't pull

People prefer rude kickboxers. Rude fighters in general, but if they stand and bang it’s even better. Leon and Belal fought already and few even remember it happened.
Legitimately misread this as "nude kickboxers" and thought of Nong Room's first post-op matches.

you are trolling... I know its not like official but Belal Muhammad has like 400K instagram followers as a number 1 contender who talks constantly... the Muslims aren't backing him up...

Im not trying to defend Colby. I am and surely not a fan.

What I AM saying is getting all riled up and hyped for Belal Muhammad is essentially pointless.

He is already way too old, his fights are boring, he’s incapable of getting finishes. It’s just modern day Jon fitch pretty much.

UFC just keeps screwing up because Dana is a gambling addict. He keeps giving the “boring” fighters endless contenders to fight instead of title shots, hoping they’ll take a loss. Instead it backfires constantly.
