Should Tom Pull a Khabib?

No, Tom has too much to lose and is too smart to throw it all away for Jon Jones. Jon isn't worth it.

And Jon literally has already gone to jail and had a full on "street fight" with DC at a faceoff and didn't seem to care who got tossed aside or hurt in the process.

Jon ain't the guy to "pull up on" he likes guns, makes bad decisions and is hyper competitive, especially in any scenario which he can possibly interpret as "mental warfare"

I feel like a lot of people are completely unaware that Tom already tried to surprise Jon at a meet and greet a year ago. Jon laughed it off and shook hands and hugged him just fine. Then Tom slapped his hand on Jones shoulder like a "father son chat" pose. Jon immediately slapped his hand off and shook his head at Tom to knock it off and Tom apologized. Jon's smile never wavered for a moment despite this.

The Jon in people's heads is not the real Jon. Even just from watching his career you should know he's prepared to do something spectacular and overwhelming from out of nowhere. It's what he's known for. Why would you ever think he wouldn't do the same outside the octagon lol.

While again, having already done so against someone like DC.

To Jon,.and this is likely a huge part of his success in his career as I have heard similar stuff about other fierce competitor athletes like Michael Jordan, Colby Bryant... EVERYTHING is a competition. He wants to "win" the staredown, the glove touch etc

Jon in his head can not accept giving ANY advantage to any opponent, up to and including the shoulder touch.
(Which has been suggested as a tactic Aspinall does to gain an early understanding of reach and arm length vs opponent.)

bit of Jon Jones perhaps not commonly known fact:

Every glove touch as champ Jon always has his Fists above his opponent, one of the opponents tried to match Jon's fist level and Jon raised his arms all the way over his head to ensure his fist was on top during the glove touch. He basically does the Ivan Drago style of glove touch as a way to establish his dominance or alpha status or whatever you want to call it.
