While I never liked him in the first place, I have less of a problem with the apology than most of you, it seems. I mean, what is he supposed to say? He fucked up like an idiot and got caught. His response and apology can't really get any different or better than what he said. Is he sincere? Who knows, but probably not. But I don't care to see him cancelled or see the rest of his life completely ruined. Isn't that the cancel culture that so many right-wingers like Tim are always complaining about? If im being honest, there is no one more insufferable and morally self righteous than cyclists, vegans and a sizable amount of veterans. Let's be honest : 18 year olds serve primarily for the guaranteed job, free Healthcare, housing, and education among the many benefits. There's a reason why there are so many incentives provided, otherwise we would need a permanent draft like so many countries have.

Kennedy is among the most obnoxious in this group. Argue with him about anything and he will bring up his heroic service ans expect that to make his opinion somehow more valid. It's difficult to find a post from him that doesn't find a way to bring up his service.

It's quite a big deal. Military valor is one of those bonding parts of society. Someone embellishing or straight up lying like Tim is a disservice to everyone whose been over there. There's a reason it has such a specific term, stolen valor not impersonating a member of the military. You are taking from the others who have earned what you claim.
