News Retired UFC fighter Tim Kennedy apologizes after admitting to lying about military accolade

I find it so bizarre. People are all over stolen valor claims and he should know that. Why would you lie about something so easily verifiable?
Cause humans are fucking stupid. We all have our moments, but god damn some people seem to have been kicked in the head by a mule as a child while it was against a brick wall.

Never understood why people like Tim Kennedy, who already did something brave by fighting for his country after the events of 9/11, feel the need to create false about their time served. I guess he explained it well he was young but I thinks it’s more Natalia than that.

Yes, it was certainly very brave to "fight for his country" by invading another country based on a lie and murdering a bunch of farmers with high-tech weaponry. Stunning and brave. He's an absolute hero.

I love how Donald Trump is consistently and verifiably lying all his life but MAGAts couldn't care less and still voting for him no matter what in TENS OF MILLIONS, yet when one other person makes a slip and he's suddenly the worst person in the world. I just can't get enough of this dumb hypocrisy 😂

Retired UFC fighter Tim Kennedy issued an apology after admitting that he lied about a specific military accolade he never actually received during his years of service.

A popular YouTube channel hosted by retired Green Beret Nathan Cornacchia posted a video where Kennedy claimed in an interview from 2017 that he won a Bronze Star with Valor after describing a scenario where he took down a “bad guy” during a conflict in one of his tours of duty. In the past, Kennedy stated that he never publicly claimed that he won a Bronze Star with Valor, which is a very specific military award handed out for “participation in acts of heroism involving conflict with an armed enemy.”

After Cornacchia posted the video, featuring the interview with Kennedy claiming he was given the Bronze Star with Valor and telling a story about what led to the award, the 45-year-old veteran issued a lengthy apology about misrepresenting himself and the awards he claimed during his military service.

“I want to take full and unequivocal responsibility for a serious mistake,” Kennedy wrote on Instagram. “Over the years, I made public statements and gave interviews in which I unintentionally misstated aspects of my military service. Most notably, I implied directly or indirectly that I had been awarded the Bronze Star with Valor. That is not true, and there is no excuse for it. I never received that honor, and I deeply regret ever suggesting otherwise. That kind of recognition is sacred. It represents extraordinary courage under fire acts that risk or cost lives. To those who truly earned it, and to their families and brothers-in-arms, I offer my sincere and direct apology. What I said disrespected your service, and I take full ownership of that.

“I was young when I stepped into the public eye, and while I wasn’t prepared for the scrutiny or pressure that came with it, that doesn’t absolve me. I should have known better. Integrity is not situational, and I failed to uphold the standards I claimed to represent. To the military and veteran community, especially those who’ve served in combat or lost people they love. I am deeply sorry. I know I’ve let many of you down. You had every right to expect more from me, and I didn’t live up to that.”

How the fuck would he think that nobody would check if he got the Bronze Star?

To be clear, he has a bronze star, but not with a "v device" for valor.

Some have accused him of also stating that he got a purple heart. He denies he ever said this. I didn't hear him say it either, like I heard the interview where he confirmed to have a bronze star with a v device, but I did hear him imply he should have got a purple heart and said he was injured and then provided conjecture to some injuries (Just look at my back during my fights, bro). Other people have called this evidence silly and say he was never injured and that's he's lying about that too

'200 gunfights in his first deployment.'
'Never once in all his deployments lost a guy.'
And yet
'Saw other servicemen dying to his left and right, being burned alive'
'Triple digit casualties to his name'
which includes multiple instances of
'women and children'
all despite his superior (during the convoy in question that he wrote his book about) sys that neither he, nor anyone else he asked, ever saw Tim fire his weapon

There's so much more that doesn't make sense, but when you lie about having a v device on bronze medal and a purple heart, then all the public stories are gonna get dragged up and this is barely scratching the surface
There are guys in the same platoon/task force who can't even keep their own shit straight or the guy next to em.

Personally, I just treat all the Special Podcasters as story tellers. Don't believe any of em are telling you the truth.

Absolutely no idea. I know a few guys who were over there and the decorated among them are a pretty tight knit community, which Tim should know by all accounts.

I have heard at least 6 guys say they were the ones that shot Bin Laden.

Tim Kennedy is a piece of shit and this just makes him look so much worse. It's a long podcast but this goes over a small portion of his book:

Guys who also served, who spoke to Tim's teams and bosses, and how 99% of it is laughably stupid bullshit. Apparently Tim said he called his commander a bitch and a pussy, and that guy forced Tim to come onto his podcast and apologize and admit it never happened. He lies about everything to come across as a badass to people that have never served who are gullible and eat up his war stories. I'm sure a ton of the people on Sean Ryan's and Jocko's podcasts are full of shit and just lie after lie.

He bragged about killing women and children, and about lobbing grenades everywhere constantly for no reason, acting like he's in COD and can do whatever he wants. He's a loser.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there are people like him in the political world lying about their service accomplishments as well. Don’t understand why Tim needed to lie to begin with, being a vet turned MMA fighter is a cool story by itself. Destroyed his reputation for more attention. Sad.

As a veteran I am surprised he didn't think he'd be called on it. Saying it in an interview too - stupid lie.

<{hughesimpress}>
I've been following it pretty closely, there's countless lies in his book. His own captain actually set down with some team members of Tim's and went over all the things that never happen, there was some crazy fabrications. Lol

More than likely there are, because people are looking for clout and to come across as a badass.

And agreed, Tim did more than enough being a vet and an MMA fighter, he didn't need to lie about all this unnecessary shit.

There is, Tim Walz or whatever his name is. He served but he fabricated some stuff about combat when he never actually seen any combat. Smh, be proud that you served, I know I would be. For some that isn't enough though.
