News Rakhmonov vs Usman NOT happening at UFC 310

They should just pull Garry out of the fight vs Buckley set for Dec 14th & have him fight Shavkat for an interim on Dec 7th instead.
I was thinking thats what they would do, now I think instead they will have JDM fight Shavkat for the interim title in Australia as I don't think they will have a title fiht main event for that card.

JDM or Leon are better options for an Interim title fight.

If not Interim WW, then they need to pay someone to pull a Poatan:

-Pull Volkov & have Tom to defend vs Gane
-Poatan vs Ankalaev
-Ilia vs Volk or Lopes?
-DDP vs Strickland 2
-Sign free agent Nate Diaz fo fight Poirier
-Shevy vs Zhang
-Islam vs Arman 2

Also I haven't seen a single source from the UFC say they're actually willing to do an interim title. I agree with you that Usman probably wants a lot more money for saving the event, and an interim title on the line.
Interim title part i believe was Rakhmonov´s request, pretty understandable if you ask me, but if Usman isnt stepping in for that, no one will, also its a fight that is better to have for the full belt instead of the Jr version if you are Usman.

Cant argue with that. Good move on Usman's behalf.

Interim is unnecessary bro as belal is only out 6 weeks hence pushing the fight back is the right thing to do and I believe that is what the UFC is going to do

"Only out for 6 weeks" is underestimating his injury etc big time. That's 6 weeks with no training. Who knows how long how it will take before Belal is in fight shape & ready to go again. It's not like he would've been ready to fight 6 weeks after UFC 310.

I agree with you, the UFC is about that money though and if they need a headliner they will find a reason to justify the creation an interim or even gimmick (BFF) belt.

is 2024 the shittiest PPV year for the UFC in the last 8 years? Atrocious year.

Must be cold inside that house of his.

You must have hair.

Let me explain, as a fellow bald guy, when the third day comes and you know you have to razor shave your head again because of the stubble, but you're too lazy that particular day, you wear a cap/hat/beanie/beret or whatever, and you go on with your stuff

Colby, Prates, or Garry could all step in. Would be a fun fight and the loser (assuming Shav wins) wouldn't take too big of a hit being short notice..

I'm not quite sure why anyone is saying that UFC 309 is the worst PPV card of the year. A couple of others have been close, but 310 is far worse unless they pull a giant fucking rabbit out of the hat.

Just give Rakhmonov any random top 10 guy like Sean Brady, Jack Della Maddalena, Covington or Garry and make it an interim title fight. The key is to recognize Rakhmonov as the champ, or #1 contender and devalue Belal Muhammad. We all knew Belal was going to be a shit champ, whether it's because of his fighting style, personality, name or whatever. Best to put him in the back burner.
