Outgunned, outnumbered, but victorious.

I like Merab as a person but as a fighter but find his cardio highly suspect and think there is a high probability he may be the "Lance Armstrong of the UFC"

bruh lance armstrong of the UFC is already there. His name is TJ.

i dont think umar was as high heralded as you think he was.

i think any level headed thinker you have had merab handedly beating umar.

lmaaaaaaaaaaaao no

and let's be honest here, i'm fairly sure i've been supporting Merab much more and longer than you have if you were at all.

The 2nd Adesanya Pereira fight.

? Chama was up 2 fights to none....??

oh you mean the second MMA fight, I guess that makes sense since you mention it.

Izzy did rock him before but it def didn't look good for him, but wasn't he the favourite going into that rematch?

He was, yeah. Still I see what you mean

The 2nd MMA fight. Pereira looked like he was about to be KO him just like their first fight then BAM he gets slept.

all right fair enough but he's really, really good. Probably the only guy who can give merab a run for his money in a five rounder like that.

Those two fights were some of the most vicious fights the UFC has seen
Both guys damaged the other irreversibly
Robbie more so

I don't think Rory thought Robbie was natural in that fight. I guess we will never know. People loved that first or second fight a lot too, still to this day.

oh yeah Chama got sent to a shadow realm. I give Israel mad props for that one. Putting everything on the line and pulling it off like that, not a fan but mad respect.

This probably deserves a mention too. Mousasi was better everywhere in any conceivable way....but that spinning kick got the best of him...

Dricus vs Whittaker, whittaker seemed better everywhere and people gave dricus like a 5% chance to win but he ended up memeing his way to a ko and becoming the only middleweight to beat whittaker other than izzy(at the time)
Definitely don't think Whittaker is better everywhere. Whittaker has cleaner more technical striking imo, but DDP despite his awkward style has more power and better submissions. Whittaker doesn't really go for submissions.

Not sure how their wrestling compares but Dricus is definitely more dangerous on the ground, if the fight gets there.

i dont think so. sherdog poll for that fight was as lopsided as for any fight. whitaker was better everywhere. sometimes fighters have a lot of submissions in the regional scene before ufc. it skews up the number a bit. before fighting whittaker, the only sub ddp had was against beyond washed up darren till. and bjj isn't always about submissions either.

i just think this is a hindsight talking. now we can point to things and say ddp is better, but before the fight, it looked like rob was better everywhere. and i dont think that was wrong by any means to say that pre-fight.

i was saying before the fight, rob is a more polished version, but because ddp is big and young and comes to fight, wouldn't count him out necessarily.

and that's really what happened, he got manhandled.

but on paper, technically, it looked like he was outgunned everywhere.

and he won.

ddp is a funny case. i think it was because he lost to soldic, he didn't have a whole lot of hype. but the man kept on winning. class act too. can you imagine how much shit talk there woulda been if Izzy won? yikes.

respect to the man.
