Law Notorious RBG

I wonder if she would have retired already had Garland been voted onto the court? Will also be interesting to see if they hold off on a SC pick until after the elections if she passes in 2020.

You think Turtleface believes that rule applies to Republicans?

I guarantee you he has a list to fast track in less than a month if she dies before November.

Super fast track if it comes to it, but that wouldn't be a bad thing for us.

Said list:

1. Amy Coney Barrett
2. See #1

No problem, the Dems have enough votes to filibuster.

Hope she makes a full recovery and returns to work, if she's up for it. That's a few too many medical scares for a woman her age, with such an active job.

Her recovery abilities time after time is seriously impressive. We should consider using some of her plasma in whatever Covid vaccine we come up with. Will probably also fight off all sorts of other things.

Poor little NoDak. He didn't deserve to die.

Ginsburg’s moderation was never exactly a secret. “On the bench, she’s been restrained and nonideological, showing little of the passion that so fueled her earlier work,” wrote Newsweek when she was nominated to the Supreme Court.

As many liberal lawyers and court observers have pointed out, Ginsburg has a mixed record on one of the most pressing and newly understood civil-rights issues of our day: criminal justice. She wrote the majority opinion on McCoy v. Louisiana affirming that the Sixth Amendment guarantees that criminal defendants have the right to maintain their innocence at trial even against their counsel’s advisement.

Isn't it the ideal that a judge, especially a supreme court judge, not bring their personal ideologies into their adjudication? I would think that any judge you can point to and say "They are a liberal or conservative judge!" isn't really filling their role properly. The law is supposed to be impartial and not influenced by ones personal prejudices, ideologies and desires.

Unfortunately, the law has proved time and again to not be fair and impartial and judges wear their badges of Liberal or Conservative with a certain amount of pride.

Still lying to excuse historic GOP obstruction. That's par. What a fuckin mook.
Take it up with your beloved Harry Reid for using the nuclear option in 2013.
