No Limit Hold 'Em Poker Discussion

Las Vegas lobbyists prob won’t make that happen anytime soon, at least until they can monetize it without cannibalizing their live gaming revenue

Idk the sportsbooks got it done.

I think the real problem is so many states have sanctioned casinos in the last 20 years they and get a piece of the action.

More importantly idk that there's any group our there actively lobbying. Not sure why, it could be a gold mine again

Garrett responded to Airball, on Polks Podcast and to be honest he came off better than I thought he would.

Meh. There's a lot of BS in his responses. To me Garrett is a sleazy politician. He "straddles" the line and tries to make himself neutral when he's not. The complaints about him are real or else why is he no longer friends (or even friendly) with Nick and Ryan? If he is so popular why is he not invited back? Some of the players themselves do not want to play with him at all.

Nick responded on his show. Basically Garrett was too greedy (requested jacking up the blinds, straddles, deeper stacks) and made the regulars uncomfortable.

Not gonna lie, I don't know all these characters well or much if anything about them.

Im just saying Garrett came off better than I thought he would. He seems to be a little full of shit at times, but I like that he stood on some of his statements.

I was never into off-the-table drama until now, and even still I'm just watching the odd podcast. Rampage is my favorite personality and I'm pretty sure he's like 25 or something. Just seems like a good dude who plays the game the way I'd like to and doesn't hide his mistakes.

I mean he's not evil. But he leveraged his popularity to pressure the show to stack the deck in his favor. Higher stakes, time chips, semi-controlling the lineup (supposedly only other top pro was allowed in the regular games and he was Garrett's buddy - rumor was Garrett had a piece of as well). Basically Nick's business is the poker stream and he depends on the regular whales that come through. If those whales no longer want Garrett in the game then what does that say about him? And in the stream Nick claims that none of those players who complained about Garrett said he was too good to be playing at that table. They simply didn't like the little things he did to get his way and bump up the edge in his favor.

And in this stream Airball comes off as a pretty regular joe. He seems to be friends with almost every regulars in the the streams. Yeah he rubs off people the wrong way during the game with his shit talking but that's his persona. He seems really nice off the table. Definitely more genuine than Garrett. And Garrett was the first one to take a shot at Airball publicly. It was completely unprovoked and Garrett's reasoning (in the Doug Polk podcast) was Airball threatened to bankrupt Garrett and he and his wife will be homeless during a live streaming game (basically speechplay)... That's some soft BS nonsense to be hating on someone. All the while Garrett's position is I don't want to cause fights or drama but he calls Airball a piece of shit. He claims one thing but it doesn't jive with what he actually did.

Airball seems like a jackass, but I mean that in a good way. I could easily see myself enjoying his presence at the table. I'm amiable when I play, shoot the shit, talk about guy stuff etc. I don't talk smack but I will joke around and needle other players here and there. I'd definitely be cracking up at Airball.

Garrett on the other hand, I've barely seen him play. I prefer to watch tournament analysis and I just recently started watching the livestreams.

One thing I don't quite understand about the livestreams... I'd assume they are all probably a bit different. But Is the Hustler livestream owned by Hustler or is it owned/operated by a few guys and Hustler gets a cut of revenue and of course the benefit of the eyes on them..?

Airball plays his part. He hams it up for a streaming show. If he was doing this in a non-streaming game it might actually rub more people the wrong way but in the end it's just animated speechplay. I see nothing wrong with Airball and how he plays. If he sat with me Id also be amused with his antics. If someone was really bothered by him though I wouldn't hesitate to ask the casino authorities to handle him. You want an "Airball" type in your game if it is being streamed. And the other issue that Polk pointed out in his podcast was he ask Garrett if he ever approached Airball and asked him to tone down his antics. He admitted he never did. So that's on Garrett. he could have easily just told him to tone it down a bit offline and it would have been over. After watching both podcast i think Garrett is fake as shit. He just looks very presentable and says all the right things.

As for the livestreams I think it would depend on the place. The lodge is co-owned by Doug Polk/Brad Owen and someone else so that live stream is created and owned by the Lodge completely. Whether the commentators or main workers who are setting and working behind the scenes are just employees or get a bigger piece of the pie I am not sure. With Hustler Casino Live Stream, that is owned and produced by Nick Vertucci and Ryan Feldman. So they could pick up and move to another casino if they want to but they'd have to change the name of their new streaming gig. I am sure there some sort of cut that is given to Hustler Casino.

Played on & off for years, mainly online the casino's have players that buy-in with a lot and they dedicate the game. PokerStars is my go too, it's a game of patience and knowing how to play a hand when the time's right. Bit more skilled involved than my roulette habit lol... won a few minor tourneys online.
Still want to learn how to play ultimate texas hold em' but still don't quite get it. Omaha is interesting.
Ultimate Hold 'em is a sucker's game. Because you're playing the dealer instead of the other players, odds are skewed in the casino's favor.

There are no reads involved, no bluffing...it's purely a game of chance.

1/2 hold em. Bought in for 250. Ran it up to 1200 in an hour when I doubled up with AA twice.

Then flop 3 way, after straddle, raise under the gun, 1 call and I called on the button with 3c 3h. About 50 in the middle.

2d 3d Jc

UTG bets out 35. Other guy calls. I raise to 110. UTG raises all in for about 350. Other guy then re-raises all in for 900.

What do you do?

I'm getting stacks in. I shove over the top.

Both villains were already all-in........so was just fold or call.

Basically hated the spot, but yeah, couldn't fold really.

Run out was 7c Jd. Pretty much the dream run out.

UTG showed AA, other guy stared at the board for about 20 seconds then mucked, so I assume he rivered the flush.

So yeah, went 250 to 2500 in an hour. Mental.

I was thinking high pocket pair and a flush draw....or pocket Jack's and you're dead money. Nice hit.... those type of days are a serious adrenaline rush.

Again... it's criminal online poker isn't legal, given the fantasy sports and sports betting, everyone using stock options like gambling, legal weed, etc.

Sweet!. It's an insta-call for me IMO as well. You're only losing pocket Js after the flop and you are blocking straight draws. Agree that the other dude probably had a flush (or maybe flush and straight draw).

Played again last night and was in almost identical position........2c2s on a 2d 4d Qc board, and both players pushed into me. Ad5d and KcKd.

Held again for an 800bb pot.

On a heater.

ride that bitch hard till all the wheels fall off son!

Normally only play once a week, but played 3 times in the last 8 days and made a tidy 5 grand profit. Would be a nice score at 5/10 let alone 1/2!

Can't even say I've played particularly well.......just ran like a god, making big hands and holding against big draws.

At 1/2 that's godly gains right there. Don't remember the last time I was on a heater. I am fuckin' due for one damnit! Just need to play. Been too busy lately.
