I haven't really looked at anything like that yet. With my Switch 1, I just got a little travel case, so I might do the same here. I looked that one up, and people were acting like it was a little awkward to get it out of the dock, too. Any issues with that?Side note, anyone pick up any accessories for this? I have the Pro, which has quickly become one of my favorite controllers, and the charging grip.
I also got the Dbrand Killswitch. It’s a case with several components that essentially wrap the Switch in a protective shell. Comes with some Joy Con skins which give it a new look and a traveling cover that allows you to magnetically attach Switch cartridges to it. Totally changes the feel of playing it handheld and makes it much more comfortable.
There was a lot of blowback on it though because some people have had their right Joy Con disconnect from the Switch because of the grips on it and they basically called their users idiots in their first response lol. I don’t have that problem but they are swapping out all of the grips.
The latest models have the updated grips that prevent it so if that’s solved I would definitely recommend it.
I’d get a screen protector at least. I figure if you spend 500 bucks it’s worth 10 to protect it.I haven't really looked at anything like that yet. On Bananza:
This game is amazing. You can see the design DNA from Odyssey. The traversal isn't quite as slick. Mario can long jump into a roll into a long jump into a hat toss into a dive into a bounce into a dive into a roll, etc. Everything flowed so smoothly. In Bananza, it's more stripped down, but it makes sense for the gameplay. If you're moving a short distance in Bananza, you're going to be punching through everything. If you're going far, you've got the turf surf, which mirrors Mario's rolls, complete with timing your button presses to keep your speed up. Satisfying. DK can roll, but it functions more like the dive, giving you a little speed boost or extending a jump.
I love the standalone little challenge areas, which totally use the Odyssey formula, too. One straightforward goal (banana), one more challenging, and one 'hidden'. And, as an improvement over Odyssey, it shows you how many of the bananas you've gotten before you enter the area.
Complaints:
When buying a new outfit in Mario, you got the option to switch immediately. Here, you have to exit the shop, go to the closet, then switch. Odd step back. That's really my only complaint so far, lol.
Is the shell those clear protective grips that go on the joycon? I have for the switch and I really enjoyed using them. Makes it more comfortable to handle when playing undocked. Playing docked I almost always used the pro controller. That’s compatible with switch 2 right? Do you have both pro and pro 2 controllers? Which one is better. Sorry asked a couple questions lolSide note, anyone pick up any accessories for this? I have the Pro, which has quickly become one of my favorite controllers, and the charging grip.

Goddammit man I already got DKB and Bravely, you're going to make me buy a controller too?Side note, anyone pick up any accessories for this? I have the Pro, which has quickly become one of my favorite controllers, and the charging grip.

The dock is kind of weird, my biggest issue is docking it. From what I’ve seen people are having an issue pulling it off the dock one handed which I don’t really do. Good thing is they’re sending an updated attachment to help with that.I haven't really looked at anything like that yet. They’re not clear for the Killswitch, they’re textured hard plastic and change the grip profile itself. Might be similar though, they help playing handheld tremendously. Is the shell those clear protective grips that go on the joycon? I have for the switch and I really enjoyed using them. Where did you pick yours up?They’re not clear for the Killswitch, they’re textured hard plastic and change the grip profile itself. Might be similar though, they help playing handheld tremendously.
I actually never got the original Pro, just the 2 now and it’s fantastic. Build quality is probably only rivaled by the Edge as far as I’ve used. Even has built in grip switches. Well, well worth it.
Straight from Dbrand.Where did you pick yours up?
Kirby is a highly anticipated game in my home.I gave away Kirby and the Forgotten Land to my brother who lives in Florida a few months ago. One of my favorite switch games and I wanted him to have it. Don’t really want to ask for it back as it was a gift but it is a bit annoying that I may have to buy it all over again because 60 fps and a new expansion sounds great. Is anyone else going to play that after Donkey Kong? It comes out next month. I may be busy with wuchang fallen feathers if that turns out good. I’m also wondering if the switch 2 version will make the OG version stop being discounted
100% just got it today.Played for about an hour or so, I don’t think I’ve ever played something like this. You can quite literally destroy almost everything in the environment. There’s this incredible sense of satisfaction just starting to burrow through mines and not really have a sense of where you’re going then popping out in a completely different area. I realized I could have skipped an entire part of the tutorial if I wanted to because I could have dug under the hazard. It really goes after that shiny gold collection satisfaction that a dungeon crawler like Diablo has. You want to keep tearing up the environment to find more.
Visually it’s gorgeous, there are a couple of frame rate issues that I noticed during cutscenes but it plays almost perfect during gameplay which is surprising given the amount of things happening on the screen.
Really enjoyed my time with it so far and can’t wait to continue smashing.
I'll probably get the Pro 2 controller because when my kid gets old enough to play she can use that or my wife can.Kirby is a highly anticipated game in my home.
Just to add to all the frothing for DKB, I think @Dizzy said it best-- it is wholly unlike anything else. I'm sure that there are limitations to the "carving" mechanism but it just seems so vast it's like a wonderland. The graphics are fucking amazing. Everything is like bright candy
You asked earlier about the Pro controller for the Switch working on Switch 2--- I can say it does. I am experiencing a small issue-- if you try to turn on the controller, it won't pair with the console by default if it's in docked mode. I don't know if that's a me problem or universal but it's something I experience.
Mario Paint is available today. I've always wanted to try this one.
