Nintendo Nintendo Megathread, v.6: Switch 2 Edition

Gotta think Metroid 4 will be featured here.

I'm expecting

- A fire emblem game (I expect a remake of an older title)
- Metroid prime 4 release date for mid november
- Super smash brothers, be it a new title, or a re-release of ultimate
- Splatoon 4 for spring next year
- Monster hunter World+iceborne or Monster hunter wilds.
- Resident evil 2 and 3 remake; Possibly a bundle

for some reason, I expect them to announce a remake of an iconic nintendo game Ocarina of time, or mario 64 something like that. nintendo is starting to get into the remake trend and with new hardware they can make meaningful remakes of existing titles.

People want big stuff and that makes sense but I don’t want to be disappointed. I’ll just say I really hope platinum gives their games a performance boost. I’d like to see Bayonetta 3 with enhanced visuals and astral chain running at 60 fps. Oh and bring back Star Fox please

Holy fuck, a Virtual Boy shell that you slide a Switch into. That is the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen. I need it.

Lol Nintendo adding virtual boy, to expansion pass and you need an accessory to play. No link yet but in Nintendo direct. Coming in February

Goddamn it, I was always jealous of my friend who had one.

Thinking about risking neck pain in my 30s and getting it lol

An ok direct. Prime 4 release date, Virtual Boy, Bananza DLC, and RE9 trailer were the highlights for me.

Pretty shit Direct overall, but about in line with expectations

Lol, I played the original as a rental from blockbuster. As a teen/child caused neck pain and made my eyes water. As a mid 40s id be bed ridden, and the cardboard accessory seems even worse.

I had a Virtual Boy, and I loved that thing. Mario Tennis wasn't too impressive, but Wario Land, Teleroboxer, and Red Alarm were rad. I never had any issues with eye strain or headaches. I'm actually really excited to play these games again.

I would try them again too if I didn't basically have to buy a virtual boy to do it

That was kind of shit to be honest and I’m a bit surprised because I usually like these things. There were just no big surprises for me. Metroid looks okay but even that kind of ended up being underwhelming because they started with some ugly open world. Highlight was the dragon quest game. Didn’t know they were working on that remake

I’d say the highlight for me was the Galaxy + Galaxy 2 re-release for Switch and Switch 2. Will definitely be picking those up as I missed them on Wii.

Shameless cash grab? Probably. Do I love me some Mario? Absolutely.

Dragon quest was my highlight as well, even if 7 does not have the best reputation. It is multiplat though, so still no reason for me to get a switch 2

Hades 2, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 remaster, Metroid and some others are right up my alley. Legends ZA, too. But damn, why does everything have to release within a few months of each other, lol. I try to limit how much I spend on games. An expensive pastime...

Why does the new Digimon game releasing next month look better all the Pokemon games they've been making? Digimon has full voice acting, much better animation quality, frame rate, etc. How come a franchise worth billions can't put out a game that looks polished?

Because they know people will buy it anyways.
