Nick Diaz wants Mayorga or Vargas

Yeah, make his position as a title-holder look weak by getting his ass beat in the boxing ring. Leave this shit in Japan. Or the UFC
I understand what you mean, but I hope to see more crossover like this, and in my opinion it would not make his MMA title look weak if he loses in boxing, 2 different sports.
No one thought Jordan was weak in basketball because he couldn't play baseball for shit, so I think most would still recognize what Diaz can do in MMA. And as a poster above me said, it would be sweet if they boxed and had an MMA fight. It would generate interest in a lot of ways and could also put interest back in Mayorga's career

Does Vargas still box? He looked badly out of shape the last time I saw him. I would love to see Diaz and Vargas.

You guys are seriously joking right?

Do you want me to post both Vargas and Mayorga's last 5 fights each? They are jokes they are only getting fights still because they are EASY WINS for their opponents.

Neither of them were ever even that great as technical boxers, Vargas was descent in his prime.

Both of them would have alot worse cardio than Diaz, I'd love to see you make an argument for otherwise.

The only shot either would have is to load up and land a big shot in the first 2 rounds because I promise you they will get outboxed and outworked if they let it go past the first 2.

Nick has no chance at an early KO though, only in the late rounds when Smokey the Bear, or Vargas aka ''Chubb's'' show just how little boxing passion they still have. They both only take fights for the money these days.

Mayorga's 3-2 in his last five with both of his losses coming to world class opponents like De La Hoya and Mosley. In no way is Mayorga an easy win.

Who says you have to be a technical boxer in order to be great? Mayorga might be a brawler but that's what makes him a challenging opponent. If you think Diaz's slap boxing can hold up against Mayorga's offense, then you're deluded.

WTF are you talking about? Mayorga has gone the distance many times without gassing. Nick Diaz, on the other hand, has only fought 4 rounds in his entire boxing career. What makes you think Mayorga or Vargas can't go 10 rounds with Diaz?

The only shot either would have is to load up and land a big shot in the first 2 rounds because I promise you they will get outboxed and outworked if they let it go past the first 2.

lmao. Please tell me you're trolling.

Oh come on with that shit man. Now I don't believe Mayorga is an easy win for anyone, but he is right in saying Diaz has better cardio, and if he could avoid the BIG shots from him then he has a chance, I still think Diaz would get dropped because he does not move his head very well and eats punches a lot, but the longer the fight goes the better of a chance he has. Just to clarify though, I believe Diaz would get knocked out, but the man has a shot and he deserves credit for wanting to do this now when he is still relevant in MMA

First off, I want more MMA fighters trying their hand a boxing, it would make them better strikers.
I hope King Mo's boxing debut comes to fruition.

I think boxing cardio is different than MMA cardio.
Can he throw 800 plus punches without getting tired?

Thats a good question, I can't remember how many he threw in the scott smith fight but it was plentiful, but if anyone can do it in MMA it is Diaz.
We are on the same page on this, I also hope it improves footwork and head movement.
This is much better conversation than "Just Bleed Ultimate Fightin' Fans"!!! Save that noise for the heavies, although I know many MMA fans live up to their stereo type and are impossible to talk to.

Well Mayorga + Vargas have pretty much become sideshows at this point in their career.

If Diaz is really willing to mix it up with either Vargas or Mayorga .. I'm all for it. Despite sparring with Andre Ward, Nick is probably way in over his head

but I'd think Diaz boxing would be much more interesting than seeing a past his prime James Toney fight MMA

well Diaz would be like +800 to start off

he doesn't have 1 punch KO power which means he'll have zero % chance

he's really screwed at this point, it would basically be an exhibition for Mayorga and Vargas

Any sanctioning would basically be legalized assault

Both Mayorga and Vargas would murder Diaz.
He's over-hyping his boxing because it looks great against B-C level fighters that Strikeforce is putting in against him

can you imagine the trash talk leading up to the fight between diaz and mayorga? lol

Ah yes, and we have a winner for the "idiot of the year" award. Maybe you should actually watch some boxing before you make another idiotic post like this.

is it just me or is Diaz's boxing sub par at best.

I know he's sparred with Ward here and there.

But for real, everytime I watch him fight I hear the goold ol' "elite level boxing" bullshit. Yes he's fought once as a pro and won. But I just dont see any talent in him what so ever as a boxer.

His movement is terrible (head movement and footwork). He has little to no defense. His hands are slow (by boxing standards) and he throws these dumb ass looking looping punches, (which would probably get countered all day).

I dont doubt Diaz's guts or conditioning, or his success as an mma fighter.

But I'm sorry, I just do not see Diaz doing well against any decent journeymen, let alone former world champions (no matter how washed up they may be)

LOL I enjoy Diaz fighting in MMA but if he thinks he stands a chance against a Pro boxer well Just watch Don frye vs JLB and that wat might happen to Diaz except the Leg kicks and Knees

yeah, just look what happened when Overeem tried to step into a K-1 arena...

His Kickboxing debut was before his first MMA fight. He also stayed semi active against world class K-1 fighters. He's not some johnny-come-lately to the world stage of a sport and saying he's going to wrestle lions and leap over tall buildings....

For my own selfish reasons I would love to see Vargas Diaz box. However Diaz would not do very well against him and should kepp his focus solely on MMA.
