Nate Diaz Hints at Interest in BMF Title Fight Against Max Holloway

BJ Penn...LOL

most overated fighter of all time, tell me, how many fights did Penn win after he lost to Diaz?
that was the tail end of his prime.
BJ was not overrated at the time. he had just drew with John Fitch previously and KO'd Hughes in like 30 seconds.
BJ's resume is pretty stellar up until that point. its only later that he took a bunch of losses, and thats what people like you associate him with.
Diaz also beat Gomi in his prime. his resume is pretty fuckin great. again, you dont know what youre talking about. go whine elsewhere.

Dispensary weed is expensive

The crazy thing is Nate didn't too badly against Jake Paul a year after that fight. But Nate is aging rapidly and wouldn't do well against Max, especially at 155, which I doubt he could make.

i would say any trained fighter who loses to jake paul did bad

If this match-up ever happened they'd have to rename it the CTE title, two human punching bags trying to break the record for most strikes absorbed.

Max already has that record.

Huh? He did terrible vs Jake Paul. Didn't even know how to throw a jab suddenly.

fun fact: Nate Diaz sparred Olympic gold medal and world Champ Andre Ward for a decade. Did not learn much technique wise.

you have just told me that Diaz beat BJ Penn in his prime, possibly about a decade after his prime, and are trying to tell me i dont know what i am talking about?

Matt Hughes, who was in his prime maybe 5-6 years earlier

are you a child by any chance?

I'm good. Max would beat Nates ass. I also dont see the UFC having any interest in working with Nate again.

it was not a decade after his prime. it was the tail end of it. i dunno where you got a decade from his prime from; he literally had just the previous year fought Frankie twice for the LW belt. that would mean his prime was in 2001, when he hadnt even won a belt. so again, you dont know what youre talking about.

im a grown man, but youre the one acting like a child when presented with opinions and facts that run contrary to your own. maybe go take a nap, youre cranky and whining too much.

he got fucking battered by Edgar twice

anyway, fed up reply to idiots, consider yourself to have won the argument, it will make you sleep well tonight

My days of caring about Nate Diaz are long gone. Pretty much the only thing i'd find remotely acceptable for him to return for is a trilogy with Conor, because he's at least equally as irrelevant. Max would make Nate look like a complete bum. 0 Interest in that match up, Max is a good win away from a title fight at LW. Fighting nate is a complete waste of time.

Nate Diaz was one-half of the first ever BMF title fight in the UFC, and now he might be angling for another crack at that belt.

The Stockton, California, native recently posted a photo of Max Holloway — the promotion’s current BMF champion — on social media with the following caption: “This guy cool but he keeps wearing my belt.”

Diaz squared off against Jorge Masvidal for the inaugural BMF title at UFC 244 on Nov. 2, 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York. While Diaz fought in typical gritty fashion, his night ended in a doctor stoppage loss after three rounds, which allowed Masvidal to capture the newly-created belt.

BMF Title a Popular Target Among UFC Athletes

While the BMF title is not an official championship, it has nonetheless generated plenty of interest among fighters on the UFC roster. Holloway claimed the hardwared with a knockout of Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 and recently defended it against Dustin Poirier in the UFC 318 main event on July 18. The belt was not at stake in Holloway’s knockout loss to Ilia Topuria at UFC 308 — despite Topuria’s claims to the contrary.

Diaz hasn’t competed in the Octagon since September 2022, when he submitted Tony Ferguson in the fourth round of the UFC 279 main event. The popular Cesar Gracie Fight Team representative has twice fought in boxing matches after parting ways with the UFC, dropping a decision to Jake Paul in August 2023 before taking a majority verdict over Masvidal last July. There has been no indication that the UFC is close to reaching a deal with Diaz to return to the promotion.

Holloway, meanwhile, recently stated that he was intrigued by options ahead of him at 155 pounds after his latest triumph. Whether it’s a rematch with the likes of Topuria or Charles Oliveira, the Hawaiian pointed out that “this sport is all about moments.” Though not necessarily realistic at this point in time, a clash with Diaz could certainly fit that description.

Nate is fucking delusional.

He'd get murked.
Anyway he's not under contract and they'd only bring him back for the Irish twat and I don't ever wanna see him again in Octagon.

No thanks, would be very one sided and Nate bleeding and cut to shreds.

Not when there's a 10+ year age gap, big size gap and damage/CTE gap.

Jake isn't elite by any means, but he's been training boxing full-time with top-notch trainers for 7 years. Of course he's going to beat most retired MMA fighters who are either 20+ years older (Anderson Silva), much smaller or both. I mean Mike Tyson is a trained fighter, right?

I’d love to see him go to PowerSlap, he’d be good at that, we all know how much he loves the Stockton Slap!

It’s not going to happen but if it did I would predict a doctors stoppage in round 3 due to Nate getting butchered. His scar tissue and max speed is a bad combo.

u guys forgetting he was about to knockout Conor and turned Mctapper into a wrestler. Diaz isn't a bum but max beats him no doubt

Nate at 30 was in his prime.

People should really go back and watch that performance, some of his combos at the end of the 2nd and 3rd round were probably the best inside boxing we’ve seen in the sport.

He took 3 years off, during his prime though.

I don’t think he was ever fully the same. Still good, but he lost a lot of momentum and never reached that height again.

Biggest issue is he’s like 38.

They seriously need to scrap the BMF belt now. At no point has anyone who won that thing been the actual baddest motherfucker in the sport. Its a fake belt for aging stars who the UFC want to milk a little more and a cheap ploy for the UFC to have all American main events/title fights like the old days.
