Charles Oliveira Wants Retirement Fight Against Max Holloway for BMF Title

Charles vs Max is a great fight. I'm down for it.

Charles is ancient in fight years and is at the end of the road. He's had an awesome career.

Charles said "next" fight not "last" fight. I listened several times and he definitely said "next"

@svmr_db As you can see, translators mis-translating charles is kind of a common thing lol.

@Kowboy On Sherdog

It's mistranslated. He just said he wants a title fight next, whether it's the real title, or a BMF title. He said he likes the BMF title fight next (NOT AS HIS LAST FIGHT, BUT as his NEXT fight) because it gets him closer to the real belt.

Also, for some reason, these fighters do seem to care about the BMF belt more than we do here on sherdog.

Gaethje and Poirier said it locks the fighters in to higher pay if the BMF title is involved. Every fighter who isn't getting UFC champion level pay should want to be in a BMF title fight.

Why? Max is set on trying to acquire the LW belt, Oliveira is oblivious to his current position, Oliveira should go fight Benoit St Denis:

I dont think he said "last fight" either. He's calling for a title shot in his next fight.

Lol at him thinking he remotely deserves a LW title shot; the only possibility is the gimmicky BMF, which is why he then began to pivot and focus on that.

If they do that, Max can beat him again.

Oh man

I love Charles but the word "retirement" hurts. I cant blame him. Its too bad he never fought for gold again

They both didn't look very BMF against Topuria.

I'd like to see him starch a few lower ranked guys before retiring, just to put a seal on the whole most finishes and most submissions records.

When does the BMF title actually change hands? Shouldn't it already be in Topuria's possession?

The BMF title is only available when 2 high profile Americans are not good enough to realistically challenge for the real belt.

Topuria and Oliveira are not American and thus ineligible for the BMF.
