Alexander Volkanovski Believes Max Holloway Deserves Title Shot Next

Ilia said he wants to fight before the end of the year. Hopefully he'll stay active. LW has contenders now that Islam is gone.

I think they'll likely give it to Arman since he made weight as the backup last fight Ilia vs Charles.
 
Makes sense to have Arman vs Illia, but it will probably be Max vs Illia, Arman vs Gaethje, Paddy vs Hooker, Ortega vs Charles..

I'm in with this arrangement, I feel Paddy hasn't yet been tested by the elite (Chandler was a level below this)

I don't agree with the way in which the UFC is treating Arman, but whatever... I suspect Paddy will be preferenced because of social media clout, not simply merit
 
Max got steamrolled by Topuria one fight before this. Hard sell for the UFC so I can't see it happening and it's probably for the best. Max legitimately had nothing to offer Topuria. I'd rather see Max beat a couple more top guys to gain that confidence back
 
He just got finished by Top and won a retirement match, let him fight a hungry contender first. Even Paddy.

I was joking. I don't think he is either. He lost his last fight at FW so he obviously shouldn't be the number 1 contender.

I'd be down for Silva vs Max actually
 
Volk just hopes Max wins and then he can beat him and end his career as 2 division champ.

He lost 3x to Volk and got knocked the fuck out by Topuria. Maybe if different people were in the title picture it would be reasonable or at all interesting. Sometimes I wish the UFC would do the right thing over what they think is marketable. Have Arman vs Ilia. Have Paddy fight Gaethje or some shit. Have Evloev vs Volk and put Jean Silva in there vs Pico or another contender worthy fight. Then do Pico if not vs Jean, vs Aljo or something. Then maybe throw a bag at Salahdine Parnasse and have him in a contendership type fight. Immediately you take a division with barely any contenders and its literally flourishing for the next two years and gives you time to develop prospects and new guys. Instead its always a merry-go-round.

Can't even compare their latest wins to Max's latest wins at LW. Let alone history as a whole...

I disagree, I'd rather see max get it than armen. Armen needs to fight someone. his last win has already fought twice since and once for the title.

I cant wait until armen doesn't get this shot, (I dont believe he will) Everyone is going to cry foul like some wrong was done to him and I'm going to laugh and enjoy illa vs max or gaethje. Warriors who deserve it.

We'll that isn't their fault. Dustin literally ducked Paddy. Their paths were legit set to cross and Dustin wasn't willing to take a L to a goof like Paddy on his way out
