Props to Chandler for taking the fight but don't see how Arman loses
I never understood this thinking. Yeah, let's make sure to give respect to the privileged who get endless opportunities gifted to them. How brave of him to take a fight that could see him end up with a title shot. My goodness, what a risk

If Chandler loses this its hard to picture him in big fights, let alone in the UFC, being 1-4 in his last 5. With a big contract at that. To me it feels like he's being fed to the wolves so that he can be cut if he loses.

Can they give Michael Chandler a winnable fight for once??? I'm saying they need to at least give him a mid-tier opponent so Chandler can win and get his confidence back. Michael being booked against Arman right now is diabolical smh

Dana is mad at Arman for pulling out last minute.

Dana comes from the era of MMA where you don't pull out of a fight unless you've got a broken leg or something.
To be fair to Dana - and I hate saying that - he's mad at Arman for pulling out at the last minute without warning when, if Arman's excuse is valid, he knew all week at least that he might have to pull out and he kept up with fight-week stunts that made a pull out significantly more likely. Not letting anyone know that he had significant back issues and rolling with Nina are very good reasons for Arman to be on the shit list.

Chandler isnt short on confidence.

That guy would fight Tom Aspinall tommorow and be like SEE YA AT THE TOP MOTHERFUCKERS

It's not a black and white thing here. People respect him cos he gives his all and he isnt coddled with weak competition like he could be.

Yes he gets oppurtunities, but he's fighting the best of the best. Shit aint easy.

Not everyone's body could hold up to the guys he's had to fight. He's only actually fought for the title once, so it's not like hes getting multiple unearned title shots.

Giving it his all in fights is one thing. Hell, respecting people for fighting at all is one thing. But big upping a guy for taking a fight that really only benefits him, (relative to any other fight he could have taken) is just madness to me. This isn't like a short notice fill-in, where you can attribute some bravery for taking a fight that you might be unprepared for. This is getting the chance to prepare for and fight the deserved contender and #1 rank in the division. Fighting ain't easy, but if you are a fighter, then what fighter doesn't take that?

Im just saying that he's a fun ballsy fighter who is not afraid to fight ANYBODY (which isnt the same for everyone) AND he gets oppurtunities that other fighters are more deserving of.

Both can be true.

I love this matchup, despite the fact that it makes no sense at all. The two of them exchanged words online, and Arman showed he's pretty damn good at trash talking.

I think Arman takes this, but Chandler brings enough X factors to the table to make it puzzling.

Saying it "isn't the same for everyone" doesn't really answer the question of, who doesn't love fighting upwards? I don't doubt he'd fight everyone, but it is an easier claim to make if he was fighting someone like Landon Quiñones. Fighting is always a risk, and even though he should beat Landon 10 times out of 10, of course there's still also a chance he loses. But the difference is, a fight with Landon gives him nothing and a fight with Arman can give him everything.

The second question I'd pose is, where is anyone complimenting Arman for fighting down? You'd compliment Chandler for fighting up, but when the same guys were below him needing fights and he was in the top 5 waiting for a pipe dream, they just had to go around him. Even if Chandler is a guy who does fight everyone, typically, you save those compliments for when he fights someone he has a lesser "need" to
