Gave him a 9. He really came off as a PTSD ridden war vet from the future who spent most of his life scrapping by but knew his duty and what he had to do at all costs.

Unpopular opinion, but not his best. A bit too over the top and B-movie-ish to me. I put it in the same category of Bill Paxton in Aliens. Memorable and quotable, but kind of corny.

They filmed The Abyss in the same county that I lived at the time and while he was there he worked out at the Nautilus gym where I trained. We spotted each other on the bench a few times and he seemed like a really decent guy. This was before Ringo but I was surprised more people didn't recognize him from T1. I kept things very DL, told him I loved T1 but that's about it and I never told a soul he was there until after they wrapped. That's probably why he would always seek me out to spot him when we were both there.

Never realized that James Cameron used the same storyline for both Rose DeWitt Bukater and Sarah Connor.

1. Young women who fell in love and slept with a homeless man the first time they met.
2. Both homeless men die along with everyone around them.
3. Both women choose to live the rest of their lives dedicated to what the homeless men taught them.

Why wasn't T1 bigger when it came out in theaters in the US? It only grossed $38.3 million and that includes Canada

I loved the story concept, but Arnold's acting and cheesy spec effects I'm sure didn't help. For me, I fell in love with T1 during the rewatching, though I did enjoy it in the theater. T2 was a much better film.

It was a B-movie on a $6 million budget competing against 1984 films. It drew $78 million at the box office. What more could you ask for?

Interesting fact, Michael Biehn's first appearance was in the movie Grease.
