It's seems as though you've been fake news'd. This is what happens when your information is based on fake memes and bad information from other people and you pretend to be an expert on a book you've never read.

15 However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you:

16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.

17 Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed.

18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

19 You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.

20 The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him.a]">[a] 21 The Lord will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess. 22 The Lord will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish. 23 The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron. 24 The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed.
25 The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will come at them from one direction but flee from them in seven, and you will become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms on earth. 26 Your carcasses will be food for all the birds and the wild animals, and there will be no one to frighten them away. 27 The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and the itch, from which you cannot be cured. 28 The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind. 29 At midday you will grope about like a blind person in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.

30 You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. 31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. 32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand. 33 A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days. 34 The sights you see will drive you mad. 35 The Lord will afflict your knees and legs with painful boils that cannot be cured, spreading from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.

Really ?

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 “If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her.

You do realize that the Hebrew Bible was written like 2800 years before the Dark Ages, right?

I don't think there is a verse in the Qur'an addressing this but many Muslim countries have honor cultures where that logic is at play.

Well, the Islamic faith is entirely built around the veneration of a "Prophet" who according to their own texts, had sex with a nine-year old girl, owned sex slaves, murdered huge numbers of people and called for the genocide of all non-Muslims. Sound like ISIS? Sound like the grooming gangs? So, I just find it ironic when people bring up some passage in another faith that isn't practiced or remotely condoned to criticize others.

was going to say the same... when ever i have seen honour killings appear in the news it is because of a prosecution.
There has to be enough evidence for the CPS to go forward with things. Without that threshold being passed no one's going court. I don't doubt that it's underreported tho. There are serious cultural issues and the new generation of British Pakistanis are moving away from that mindset. As a third generation Pakistani myself I have 0 time for so called honour crimes and generally forgoe cultural practices I think are distasteful

Same sex activity was legalized in the land of the Turks since 1858, 145 years before the United States did. And child marriages are already legal in the US, over 200,000 happened in the first decade of the 21st century.

Swing and a miss.
Try it in SA or Iraq

2nd post is a retard somehow trying to make this about the GOP. Then another retard shows up and tries to make this about the Torah. Holy fucking shit! I'm glad other posters have the patience to deal with idiots because I surely do not.

I think it's no secret that Turkey, the once example for muslims nations, is slowly turning back in time but I feel we need to know more about this law to comment. For example, what is the definition of rape here? Does the girl in question have any say? Is there an age limit? I believe we can all agree that a 16 years old having sex with a 18 years old guy and later marrying him to prevent him to go to jail is extremely different than a rape victim being forced to marry her rapist.

They likely think that it will help the victim, as I’m sure the stigma of being raped makes it hard to find a husband, but they are just punishing the victims with the bill

Rape is rape (unless it's a muslim, then it's super rape)

Still the basis of Christianity and the sacred word of god right ?

No, not in practical terms. A forced act of intercourse is physically and emotionally traumatizing to the victim. A girl who happens to be under the age of consent but is willfully sexually active isn't a victim of forced intercourse. A well written law would be able to clarify and define in what situations this proposed law should be applied. I seriously doubt they are suggesting victims should marry their rapists. Oh well at least I hope not.

Well, being Jewish I can't speak for Christianity.

As for Judaism, as I explained on the first page, the rabbis who created the Talmud (around 400 A.D. and still well before the Dark Ages) allowed the woman to refuse the marriage. Talmud explains in great detail how the commandments of the Torah are to be carried out. For example, Torah says "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," but the Talmudic rabbis explained that what was meant was monetary compensation equal to the value of an eye or the value of a tooth.

Really, when it comes to the rules, Talmud is the central text of Judaism.
