He didn't get a win vs Jan. But he did beat the shit out of him in the end. He proved his championship calibre in that fight even if he didn't win it. Pretending that fight means nothing is purely a self-serving narrative because you are scared Ank will beat your boy.

Ank is the best available option. Poatan also needs to fight a wrestler at some point.

This is all in your head. Adesanya has shown no interest in fighting Pereira again "He who laughs last, laughs best", nor has he seriously talked about returning to 205. He had the best highlight of his career when he finally beat Pereira, he's not jeopardizing that by fighting Pereira again where he's much stronger & less depleted at 205.
