Monday is Leg Day for me. I Squat with a Safety Bar as I've had shoulder surgery and using an Oly Bar hurts them. I arrive at the gym to be told that the SS Bar is broken. Some utter cock-Womble had injured one arm and, instead of swapping out Squats for, say, Leg Press, decided to load up the SS Bar heavy and Squat using his good arm.

So instead of the load being distributed evenly over both handles, all the strain was on a single handle. Which broke.

I'm now left with several options, including Trap Bar Deadlifting 2 x week, Leg Press or Front Squats. The last one being my least favourite, as I find the Bar very uncomfortable on my shoulders. All because some retard can't be trusted to use the equipment without ruining it for everyone else. Whoever he is, I'd happily break his other arm. And his legs.

Counters to Arm Bar. First counter was against Arm Bar while in the opponent's Guard. The second counter was against Arm Bar where the opponent starts from Mount.

Rolling. Four 3 minute rounds left me very glad to finish the session. For the first three, I was up against senior Whites and a Purple, all of whom Tapped me. I'm still at the stage of working almost pure defence. My last Roll was against another White who'd been there only a bit longer than me, and we Rolled to a no-score draw.

Note to Self: pin leg and hip when trying to Pass opponent's Guard.
 
My gym managed to replace the broken Weston SS Bar with a BLK Box SSB. Not as good as the Weston, but still a solid piece of the kit: 32kg/70 pounds with no plates. A wider yoke, so I'll have to get used to it before I can squat heavy. Still better than having to use a Leg Press.

We'll see how long this one lasts before some fuckwit manages to break it. :rolleyes:
