News Luis Peña arrested, charged with robbery and battery

I can't help thinking that this would never have happened if the UFC paid better

His mistake was choosing the Red Goofs "Superbowl of MMA" U Fight Cheap over fighitng Social Media influencers or anyone really in boxing. He wouldn't of had to rob anyone.

Does anyone have any details on what actually happened? Did he snatch his girlfriends phone or was he out robbing old ladies? Not defending either behavior I just won't jump to conclusions

UFC veteran Luis Pena was arrested on Friday by Florida police and charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery and criminal mischief, according to online jail records.

Pena, 27, was picked up by the Coral Springs Police Department on an extradition warrant issued by a police department in another county in Florida. The name of the department and details on the charges weren’t immediately available, but a police spokesperson said the Ultimate Fighter 27alum was picked up on an anonymous tip.

“It was actually called in by another police department for us to go and get him, and then we had an independent person tell us where he was, and they took him into custody under that warrant,” Christian Swinson, a public information officer for the Coral Springs police, told MMA Fighting.

Two of the charges – robbery and battery – are designated as pending trial. Swinson said Pena could have missed an arraignment hearing on the charges, or the charges could have been added in the course of investigation after an initial charge, triggering the warrant that led to his arrest.

Robbery by sudden snatching is classified as a third-degree felony in Florida and is punishable by up to five years and $5,000 in fines. Those penalties can be increased if the offender was using a deadly weapon.

Goodness gracious!!!

Idk what it is with Peña tbh. From what I've seen in AKA training videos he seems to be a sweet kid, perhaps a little slow. While we point and laugh at him, maybe he's easy to influence by bad intentioned others to do some dumb shit. IIRC this isn't the first time he's had some run ins with the law. Maybe the UFC just pays garbage and he's resorting to petty crime.

Or it could all be a facade and he's really just a thug. Who knows

Didn’t he basically get kicked out of AKA?

If this is true and he isn't just looking for sympathy after fucking up, I hope he gets the help he needs and commend him for taking that step rather than making excuses or blaming others. It's one of the hardest things to own up to your issues and face them. The vast majority of people in this world never do it.

Something something fighter pay something something bald father clown shoes goof

He's a good fighter IMO. I always took note when he was on a card. He should be able to come back from these charges.

His criminal tendencies probably is what got him kicked out of AKA.

Robbery because of mentalhealth problems seem very far fetched.
