News Luis Peña arrested, charged with robbery and battery

Robbery by ‘sudden snatching’ doesn’t sound too good. Man, if he’s robbing old ladies, that would be a POS move. I guess we await more details.

UFC veteran Luis Pena was arrested on Friday by Florida police and charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery and criminal mischief, according to online jail records.

Pena, 27, was picked up by the Coral Springs Police Department on an extradition warrant issued by a police department in another county in Florida. The name of the department and details on the charges weren’t immediately available, but a police spokesperson said the Ultimate Fighter 27alum was picked up on an anonymous tip.

“It was actually called in by another police department for us to go and get him, and then we had an independent person tell us where he was, and they took him into custody under that warrant,” Christian Swinson, a public information officer for the Coral Springs police, told MMA Fighting.

Two of the charges – robbery and battery – are designated as pending trial. Swinson said Pena could have missed an arraignment hearing on the charges, or the charges could have been added in the course of investigation after an initial charge, triggering the warrant that led to his arrest.

Robbery by sudden snatching is classified as a third-degree felony in Florida and is punishable by up to five years and $5,000 in fines. Those penalties can be increased if the offender was using a deadly weapon.

I don't know the details of the case, but I wouldn't be surprised if he smacked someone up then took something that originally belonged to him and they called it a robbery even though he probably it was his to begin with. I don't know the details, so I'm just speculating. Let's wait for more details to come out.

It reminded me of Conor's cellphone breaking case and how they cahrged him with assault or some bullshit like that because he smashed some dudes phone.

He mentioned he was homeless at some point before starting his career. He's always come off as a weirdo in the AKA videos.

Got some insider knowledge on what happened. Apparently, Luis snatched up teammates under armor coupons.....can't say I am surprised. Dana blessed everyone with coupons, but not enough of them to go around.

Here come all the retarded "iF the UfC PaiD BeTteR tHiS wOuLd NeVeR haVE HapPenEd" comments
It’s true though. How many top league athletes in other sports are out there robbing people? Robbery is financially motivated and if he had a good income, I highly doubt this would have happened.
