News King Bobby Green vs Mauricio Ruffy Booked For UFC 313

I think Ruffy will destroy him (will put a small bet on Green)
Never understood this. You're gonna bet on something you don't think will happen, just because it would hypothetically win you more money than the thing you're pretty sure will happen?

Spicy. Ruffy had a lot of hype but looked pretty average last time out. I lean Green by decision. Hopefully he's +money.

Definitely helps an otherwise lackluster(for Vegas) ppv. Still hoping they add Paddy/Chandler.
I thought he looked really good, that guy he fought had a hell of a chin. Ruffy landed some crazy clean shots in that fight.

Don't like Bobby's chances here, but actually his recent record is slightly better than I thought. Off the top of my head I thought this must have been his 'win or cut' fight, but I'm glad it's not.

I can pick Ruffy, and Bobby still stays in all likelihood.

And yeah I realise I'm dead naming him, but the hell if I'm calling him King. We already got a King.

He did but he got lit up in the 3rd round & was gassed after 7 mins. 1 clean shot near the end of round 2 was the difference between winning 29-28 & losing 29-28. Against a borderline top-100 LW. Not the best look.

Fair point, I need to rewatch, I think I've seen the highlights like 50 times now so I probably have a bit of a bias from that.

They are really desperate to push this Mauricio Puffy Conor knockoff guy.
Not really desperation to simply put him against a guy he's liable to look good against.

It's just what they do when they wanna.

Mauricio is the future GOAT so I would like to know what your fuckin problem is.

rewatch, but lets add some context to the fight:

-Ruffy was dieting for 6 months in a row, because the fights - that he was being scheduled - were being cancelled. So, he wasn´t able to recover his original fight weight(178,50 lbs), he fought with 169,75 lbs. So, he lost some power and gassed faster. It is like his body got used to his new weight.
-Was his first fight in a main card and was a big event. He was a little nervous.
-His adversary never been knocked out before and was fighting with 198lbs( Gilbert Burns met him and asked his weight)!! This make even harder to be koed.
-Ruffy said he felt Lofton strenght in the clinch so was trying to mainting distance in the 3th round and said that was cosuming much energy when they engaged in the clinch.
-Ruffy told he felt that would be able to KO him if he pushed the pace and threw more combos, but also thought that would be dangerous because the guy was much more heavier and was there to kill or be killed. So he slowed down in the 3th round.

Off the top of Bobby's head could be his opponent's face. Green's chances might go up a bit if he decides to cheat like that again

Queen Green's trash talk:

Well well well!! It seems like he's a Brazilian fighter! And I'm An American fighter. And we'll fight in the octagon!!! Aaaaaaaand yeah baby, it's gonna be three rounds. Not five. Not two, but three! On pay per view!! I'll punch and he will punch. You guys aren't gonna believe it!!

But first y'all...I gotta tell ya... FIRST...I'm gonna weigh in!

155 lbs and then he has to do the same ..oh yeah

They did Ruffy dirty by giving him somebody who was nigh indestructible in his last fight. Not the case here!
