Its a really fun fight I want to see but I don't love it for Max right now. IMO he shouldn't come back to fight the #1 contender in the lightweight division after a KO loss. He should be fighting further down the rankings.

It's more that max does already have the win over charles. And while he is off a loss at FW, his last win was a top 5 @ LW.

That fight was 9 years ago in a different weight class. It has no bearing on how we setup current fights in the division.

Charles is coming off a win and dropped a controversial split decision to the current title challenger. Prior to that he murdered Dariush. He's either up for the next title shot or a title eliminator.

Max got out classed and KO'd fairly easily by Topuria. Your next fight shouldn't be a title eliminator in any division.

Max should fight Dan Hooker or perhaps the winner of Fiziev vs Gamrot if he wants a long break.
