And that's without also taking into account things like athleticism or just the fact that they're fighting the sharpest Dagi currently active. The record could look better if they were fighting guys like Khabilov or Saygid or Aliskerov.

I truly feel like Craig Jones style of coaching is ill suited against Caucasus fighters and especially Makhachev.

The guy has a vast array of grappling tools at his disposal where he's elite at, Sambo, judo, freestyle wrestling, Greco etc. And Craig is answering by teaching perfect submission defense to fighters that have a way lesser wrestling pedigree.

That's not the way to go I'm sorry.

I'll admit there is no good answer. As the only fighter that has beet a top 10 Caucasus fighters in recent times is Merab. Or Poatan but Ankalaev isn't half the grappler Makhachev is. So the sample size of success is tiny.
