Idk what ppl call flatfooted. I think they mean Poatan isn't so dynamic in the striking. Ok, Anderson Silva was a way more dynamic striker. So is Jon Jones. So is Jiri Prochazka too. Being dynamic # being better. Poatan isn't so dynamic but he has a mastery of the concept of kickboxing so well, plus huge KO power, more so than Ngannou likely, that it doesn't mean he isn't good for being so little dynamic. It's all about timing, accuracy, getting the shot in accurately, controlling distance, understanding well how to use the octagon in favourable angles... A dynamic striker like Jiri couldn't strike with him at all... Because being dynamic against an elite of the elite kickboxer with a touch of death will just end up giving openings to be hit when the movement is even a little bit off... The accuracy is so high that being dynamic pales in comparison to an elite striker who isn't dynamic but has a mastery of the basic of striking so well that it will make fighters pay for any mistake when being dynamic. The straightforward, basics of striking when mastered to a level of high precision, combined with adjusting this straightforward style, knowing just it is enough is what makes Poatan the best striker. He isn't so dynamic, but still hugely effective, to the point a slip and bam, the fighter gets slept.
