Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira

fun fact gane has shown offensive wrestling against nganou
he also showed great defensive wrestling against nganou
the man also outclinched nganou

also fun fact gane has 3 submission wins like aspinal

btw i agree that tom is more dangerous than gane

but saying tom is more dangerous striker than a world champ striker like alex is crazy
it doesnt make sense
both of them have 1 punch ko power but the other one is a world champ

so it really doesnt make sense that the non world champ is more dangerous <lol>

Ganes submissions are against lower level of opponents. He did lose to Ngannou due to lay-and-pray.

Okay, I thought you argued that Gane 》 Aspinall.

I think what makes Jones not want to fight Aspinall is his youth, size and speed. And that he's more well-rounded than Pereira. Also, there's not much video on him due to his short fights.

Aspinall has been doing a lot of sparring with Tyson Fury and Rico Veerhoven over the years, he's obviously also an extremely dangerous striker.

This is MMA, not kickboxing. Merab outwrestled Olympic gold medalist Cejudo.

Tom is a monster of a man tho...
Size matters..... a shit ton

No interest. Alex would get mauled against the cage. Even on the feet Jones is just going to frame and run away anytime Alex comes close. Aspinall is actually quicker than Alex and can close the gap easier even without being as polished of a striker.

Alex is an amazing striking practitioner, i’d say he’s definitely a better and heavier hitter than Tom.

didnt read all that but if your sentiment is that Alex is a tougher fight for Jones than Aspinall is, I would agree with you. I dont see what Aspinall has that makes everyone so confident against Jones aside from his speed. Literally, everything else, to me, is in Jones favor.
Perriera on the other hand, has a significant standup advantage vs jones, and jones aint a double legger. Hes gotta get close to get him down, where Alex is dangerous.

Idk what ppl call flatfooted. I think they mean Poatan isn't so dynamic in the striking. Ok, Anderson Silva was a way more dynamic striker. So is Jon Jones. So is Jiri Prochazka too. Being dynamic # being better. Poatan isn't so dynamic but he has a mastery of the concept of kickboxing so well, plus huge KO power, more so than Ngannou likely, that it doesn't mean he isn't good for being so little dynamic. It's all about timing, accuracy, getting the shot in accurately, controlling distance, understanding well how to use the octagon in favourable angles... A dynamic striker like Jiri couldn't strike with him at all... Because being dynamic against an elite of the elite kickboxer with a touch of death will just end up giving openings to be hit when the movement is even a little bit off... The accuracy is so high that being dynamic pales in comparison to an elite striker who isn't dynamic but has a mastery of the basic of striking so well that it will make fighters pay for any mistake when being dynamic. The straightforward, basics of striking when mastered to a level of high precision, combined with adjusting this straightforward style, knowing just it is enough is what makes Poatan the best striker. He isn't so dynamic, but still hugely effective, to the point a slip and bam, the fighter gets slept.
saying AP isnt a dynamic striker is the dumbest shit Ive ever heard. Uses every limb, multiple times, and multiple ways. How isnt that dynamic?

It’s a squash match. Cmon guys. Jones will take him down and strangle him like gane.

I don't know what guys mean by dynamic. I think they use dynamic for guys like JJ and Silva who do spinning back kicks, who do spinning elbows + an axe kick combo, or jump into the face and throws a flying kick... I think that's what they mean when they say Alex isn't dynamic. But he's still the best striker of MMA...

Alex at least has an advantage over Jon on paper in striking.

The only things I hear about Tom is he's younger and heavier.

I don't think so. I think Jon's ego will have him stand with Alex.
Jon is a guy that wants to outwrestle wrestlers and outstrike strikers.
The last time I heard Jon say he wants to out strike a striker it was against Santos and Jon kept his word and didn't take Santos down.

Jon's an obsessive-compulsive and really, really good game planner. Alex is pretty easy to game plan; Tom . . . isn't. I'd still have Jon as a slight favorite over Tom if the fight happens, but I don't expect Jon to take the fight.

You're misreading Jones. Motivated Jones is the smartest fighter alive. Non-motivated Jones does things like play to his opponent's strength to try to build motivation. If Jones is pushing this hard for a fight, he's motivated.

Jones v. Pereria will absolutely happen. Know how I know?

Because Dana White said it wouldn't.

Maybe.
In the first fight he definitely wanted to out grapple DC and Jon was motivated and game planned to out grapple DC.
Jon could've stayed at range and pot shotted DC for 5 rounds but instead he went right into DC's wheelhouse.
I think he'd do the same against Alex.

how is he less dangerous than aspinal, poatan is a world champion in striking with 1 punch ko power
i dont know why people act like aspinal is a world champ in striking even though he hasnt beaten 1 yet

and i dont know why people act likes hes a world champ grappler
the man hasnt outgrappled any good one
last time i checked he got submitted lol
"Last time I checked"...

You are genuinely a spastic. A massive, massive spastic

Huge Poatan fan.

As simple as that: Alex is the best UFC striker by a mile, but Jon has a huge* reach advantage and is the best at keeping distance.
I can't see Alex slow MT style forward match could pressure Jones.
*It's fairly known that Alex is taller than stated, but still.

Once Jon takes kim to the ground, fight is done.

Poatan has just come late. With a year prep, this fight would be a banger. But Alex is already 37.

Didn't read, but I'll just say that if those two fight, Jones would cheat his way to a victory as usual.
