Jon Jones is gonna reality check alot of people who assume Aspinall will be a threat

I was an absolute non-believer in Jon Jones' success at HW before the Gane fight, so I'm not making that mistake again.

Aspinall is really good, he is huge, and he's capable of finishing fights anywhere, but Jon Jones' athleticism and well-roundedness at HW are just a superior features that other HWs don't have. Aspinall yet has to enter round 3 in his career. I think that's a huge X-factor against a guy like Jones.

I think Jones is the man to derail the Aspinall hype train.
Unless Jon starches Tom in quick order, I don’t think his “hype train” would necessarily be derailed.

If it’s just a regular loss, Jon will retire sometime soon after and Tim could very well go on and win another 3+ heavyweight title fights and still have a great career. A loss to the undisputed GOAT wouldn’t derail him as such.

Why do you think it's more likely Jones chin gets cracked than Aspinall's leg gets reinjured? One of these events have happened before.
Freakish obsessiveness about Toms knee

Creepy

Jones showed some serious vulnerabilities his last fight. He turned his back on Stipe so many times but Stipe was too old and slow to run him down and punish him.

If he tries to pull this against Aspinall, he'll be put to sleep.

I guess old man, retired, geriatric Stipe must be Jon’s best win

I mean, if we’re all going to play the retard

Man it must suck to cry yourself to sleep every night knowing Jones beat every man he fought.

I dont have that emotional connection to him. If you dont see the problem in a 42 year old fighter who has been retired for 3 years in a championship fight well then you are exactly the fan the UFC loves.

Especially if you are a fan of Jones you should call the UFC and him out for this walking dead opponent. You deserve better.

As a fan you get the best content by your favourite fighter engaging worthy opponents and not someone who was shot 3 years ago at 39.

Can already see it if Jones beats Tom. “Tom was untested! All these quick finishes didn’t let us know he’s got a glass chin and worse stamina than Kimbo”

Jones just dug up a zombie to fight and then praised himself as the goat. This guy wont get into a high level match and hasnt been in years.

Gustaffson in 2018 was the last head on fight vs a top dangerous opponent. Thats 6 years. He is done.

The Miocic fight really was a disgrace to the sport and shameful. Avoiding him for years to then fight him when he is completely done for years.
Undead Stipe.

I will say it right now! Tom Aspinall has a punchers chance and his window of winning the fight closes in the first round heck not even first round but first minutes of first round where he has his explosiveness. Jon Jones is to smart to get caught by a one shoot he has fought gazilions of guys with one punch KO power etc etc.

The Amount of arsenal Jon Jones has is to great for Aspinall. Heck I won´t even be surprised if Jones finishes him in the first round.

Jones knows that Aspinall is same level as Ciryl Gane and past first round he is done. Tom Aspinall has never taken any of the shoots Jones is gonna throw at him and fighting chinny slow HWs is nothing compared to Jon Jones which is completely different world of difference. Throwing some haymakers at random heavyweights who have no IQ is nothing comparable to sharing an octagon with Jon Jones.

I don´t think Aspinall is ready because he has never seen adversary in his career aside from his knee injury and fight was stopped. Jon is intelligent, fast and lethal. He is experienced and has been thru wars and extremely elusive this will frustrate Aspinall from first few mins when he realize holyshxt this guy is elusive and he is hitting me everytime with something big. This will be the beginning of the end Aspinall will feel like a fish out of water..

Tom is probably only a 1st rounder fighter too. His cardio has not been tested for 5 rounds. Game over for Tom.

The thing is Stipe was ranked #2 when Jones dispatched the #1 Gane.

Tom may not have even been ranked at the time Jones won the belt, he definintely had never been on ppv.

Stipe (the best HW ever) was the ONLY person for Jones to fight, and lets be honest, Tom (unranked at the time) probably couldnt beat him.

But how does that make the fight in any kind of way competitive 3 years after Stipes retirement? Heck then call it a layoff but it doesnt change the fact. UFC rankings are a promotional tool not a reflection on ability.

Everyone back then talked about this being Stipes retirement esp. as he looked the age vs. NGannou 2. Come on this was zombie Stipe.

Otherwise why not rank St. Pierre nr.2 Only 2 more years out of the game but much more dominant in his career. Lets make St. Pierre. vs Belal for the title.

Isn't Jones vulnerable to losing via pec tear?

Jones also just as statistically likely to lose via getting himself DQ'd than Aspinall is to lose via knee injury.

The fighters who have had success against Jones have all had a similar strategy. Aspinall he's a similar style and will be the bigger man more power and possibly faster. He's obviously a threat. Nearly 40 year old Thiago Santos with no knees lost a very close fight to a younger Jones. Aspinall is Jones biggest threat, not saying he wins but to dismiss him is hilarious.

I dont know what to tell you man

Rankings overwhelmingly dictate title contention within the UFC based on recent performances against elite fighters

Stipe was ranked #2 when Jones beat #1 and regarded as the best HW ever. He wasnt called a "zombie" until Jones challenged him.

Who was Jones supposed to call out? Some unranked unknown fighters who never appeared on a PPV?
