Brother, look up the Eastman Memos. Trump and his lawyer had it all planned out. The only thing that stopped Trump from overturning the election was Mike Pence saying no. Pence is an old school conservative that respects the constitution and democratic process. Eastman lost his law license because of it. It’s not some conspiracy.

I'll tell you something that surprised me and changed my opinion on this. I work with a bloke who was a PMC across East Europe before the war started. He spent 9mths fighting in Ukraine. His reason for signing up was so powerful I asked him why he'd left. He told me that alot of the villages towns, even cities they'd go through didn't want to be Ukrainian. They actively wanted to be Russian. They didn't want help, they didn't want to be fought for. Once he realised that he ask why he even fighting then and left. I do wonder why this isn't raised more.

I'm no historian but I know ukraine had had border issues for awhile and when the war first started I saw people mention 'Some Ukrainians want to be Russian not ukranian' but i dismissed it as Russian bots trying to frame a narrative to justify the invasion so I was surprised to hear first hand it was true.

Obviously the Russians took things way too far but I wonder if it all would have been avoided if Ukraine had a referendum about those areas wanting to remain in Ukraine or not.

I am sure there are Ukrainians that feel allegiance to Russia. I would guess that demographic leans towards older Ukrainians. Zelensky was elected, though. That shows that the majority of Ukrainians want Ukraine to be autonomous. Thanks for sharing that story, though. Hope your friend is back home and safe.
