Opinion Is Sam Seder the best debater on the left?

People on the left have the balls to go face to face without breaking down emotionally like the right do

That’s why they scour randoms on college campuses and cherry pick the videos so their stupid base can eat it up without realising most of the videos are fake lol

I haven't watched the whole thing yet but it's interesting. You may be able to save me some time. Does he ever explain what he means by "different solutions tailored for different cultural backgrounds"?

Edit: actually, he is asked to clarify (good on Pakman), and gives a decent response until he gets into harsher penalties for criminals as some kind of solution.

Yeah, Shapiro hadn't yet developed his resting pissflaps face. Instead, he looks dead inside but at least he sounds reasonable.

Ya that was my point in an earlier post. He has a bad habit of straying from an honest discussion to "score points". That's not helpful for anybody.

JP is good when he's telling kids to make their bed, take control of life, etc... anything else is just word salad and mental masturbation. Cant give a straight answer and runs circles around the point for minutes asking about the meaning of the question in hopes you get tired and forget about it.

I watched the 2 Seder ones OP posted, I dont think he looked good, I think the other guys looked terrible. That PBD 5x1 was embarrassing, how those guys have a following?

Debates nowadays have been pretty bad, is more about influencers trying to dunk for their audience or yell over opposition. It gets pretty tiresome.

Plus most of those guys, when refferencing a paper... they only read the fucking headline on the news (great way of doing their own research huh?). When one takes 15 minutes to read the abstract and the conclusion (or ask chatgpt to give him the points) we should be happy.

I like to see guys having a good conversation and bringing good arguments.. in the end they may agree to disagree, but I find interesting to see a good point of view laid bare.


BTW, I have no horse on the american left/right stuff. Im brazilian.. from my point of view everybody is bad, since both sides of the alley here will take the worse from them and try to replicate here. It's funny seeing one side calling the other commies/facists, 80 years of their own propaganda and they dont know what those systems really are/mean.

Shapiro was made a fool with Sam Harris, who is hardly a political heavyweight.

Shapiro’s entire argument was the bigotry of low expectations that he has for the Republican Party.

Hasan is the loudest, most consistent progressive voice in media, and while I hate his format I agree with most things he says. considering how often he does it, probably. can't recall him ever really ever being wrong. he just doesn't take the right paths in his phrasing. he'll often address things he doesn't need to when an easier, broader shutdown of the entire argument is available.
