Media In the shadow of Jon Jones, Tom Aspinall must dominate Cyril Gane to establish legitimacy

You seem to think saying Jon is better than him is insulting him. Lol, Jon is better than everyone. Just facts.
nah, its just the pattern of you creating multiple threads to shit on Tom on many different instances. being a fan of a fighter is fine, but bashing a fighter constantly is not fine. and youve done nothing but bash Tom in this thread and others.

Jon has a great legacy, but he also has a very spotty one. getting stripped of your championship belt for PEDs is not a good look. he's also not a better heavyweight than Tom. he's not a better heavyweight than most other heavyweight champs, actually. Jon's legacy is at LHW and thats what he will primarily be remembered for.

All the people suddenly crying about styles make fights so Tom doesn't have to obliterate Gane like Jon did have also been telling us for years that Tom would obliterate Gane because styles make fights.

Weird how their opinions changed now that the challenge is actually on the table!

lol, how does this thread bash on Tom in the least, it’s arguing he has to dominant Gane to establish himself as the legitimate champion, that’s not a bash.

Saying something like “Tom sucks” is a bash.

They're just a little shook after Curtis Blaydes robbed an unranked dude and Pav turned out to suck

He needs to finish Gane, anything less and he's yesterday's news

Ryan Spann didn’t retire as the undisputed champion leaving an asterisk that Jon Jones needed to fill by beating Reyes.

Jon Jones also didn’t spent a year trying to prove he’s worthy of fighting Spann.

Jon Jones doesn’t live in the shadow of Spann, while Aspinall lives in his shadow.

That would have held more water if the case had been something like that Jones said that he just wanted a retirement fight when he fought Stipe, and then just walked away. Reality instead had Aspinall chasing Jones as the legitimate contended (and one that made the championship disputed) and Jones kept running away.

So in that sense Jones helped alleviate the issue of him being gone.

Tom needs to get a finish, but not necessarily as fast as Jon did.

But yes, a decision or loss looks real bad.

Not if he beats his ass for 5 full rounds.

In some ways a one-sided 25 minute beatdown by Tom looks better for him. Everyone keeps saying "what about if he has to go later into a fight?" If Aspinall mauls Gane for 5 full rounds, that cardio question gets answered along with him still getting a decisive win.

Can you give specific people that said those same things? Nah, you're just pulling shit out your ass like usual.

Tom likely WILL smash Gane. And styles still do make fights to a degree. And volatility still exists.

Take him down, shoe shine looking at the ref, cyril wont complain.

What dumb logic. Ryan Spann easily KOed Dominic Reyes while Jon Jones needed miracle score cards to win. Does that mean Spann is better than Jones?

Aspinall doesn’t need to do shit but win.
Spann > Jones verified.

don't know why it would necessarily have to be a dominant win. i mean he hasn't really slipped up yet in his career, a decision win here wouldn't be held against him or anything, i wouldn't think.

a win over gane in any form will give him legitimacy, and should set him up for a long comfy reign. the rest of the division doesn't have much to offer him.

Tom literally already has 3 losses

Tom literally already has 3 losses
two from the infancy of his career, ten years ago, the only one in the ufc due to injury. they're on his record but he's been unstoppable in the ufc.

This exact same exchange is also where he got "injured" against Blaydes while again getting countered with zero defence throwing a leg kick.

He's an offensive juggernaut which has taken him to here. But his defence and recklessness has sucked for his entire career, hence the already existing 3 losses. He's not some perfect fighter and it's going to catch up to him again soon.
