Another long time vet would be great but that pretty much leaves Dustin (if he wins and stays) or Justin.
Both of these fighters have lots of losses. A win is good but to me that's just another guy on his way out the door.

Nah it won't regress it. It'll build hype for him. A lot of people will watch it.
Regress means to get worse or go backwards. It's not going to make him less famous or make him less likely to get big fights with Islam, Arman, Gaethje, JDM or anyone else.

The only names in the division are long-aged vets that are bordering retirement. That does less for his legacy than beating an up-and-comer who hasn't lost in the UFC and looks better each time out.

I mean I hated seeing Colby get a title shot with Leon, but this isn't even close to the same level. The UFC is going to have to choose between both guys, it makes sense they choose Paddy. Arman would've been a lock if he took the Gamrot fight and won, instead he chose to just weigh in as back up fighter and wait around, but who cares? Only if the real reason is he was going to miss weight against Islam.
