Seems like these are the only 2 stars in the sport right now. Alex is pushing 40 and likely will retire not long after moving to heavy weight. Ilia Topuria says he doesn't think he will stick around in MMA for too long and likely move onto boxing. DDP had potential for being a star but after his humiliating defeat to Khamzat, he is no longer in the conversation of most people. Sean Strickland can't be a star because people are tired of his "war" facade when all he does his Philly shell in the cage. The only people that have any sort of potential star power right now are Kayla Harrison, Sean O'Malley, Alexander Volkov, Paddy Pimblett, Ian Garry, Aljamain Sterling and possibly Jiri.

I dont think the UFC will ever have the number of star power that they had around 2009-11 with Brock, GSP, Anderson, Shogun, Rampage etc..
But they will always have a couple of guys that are marketable on the roster.

UFC will be fine, other stars/billionaires will swoop in and replace those leaving, and the UFC, and now Paramount, will PUSH their next stars with insane amounts of money and PR. We said the same when Chuck and Tito fell off. Said it again after GSP and Anderson aged out and retired. And again after Conor/Nate/Khabib/Masvidal rivalries crashed in such an epic and fiery style

Then AP and Khamzat arrived, there's never gonna be no popular fighters. John Pork has jumped Danis with 12 goons before his official debut, and we'll probably get another hot chick as a champ eventually.

Yeah its been like this for 20 years, people come along. Sometimes you have an era where theres a bunch of big stars at once, sometimes it takes a few years for guys to emerge.

I watch the fights because they repeatedly book a martial artist who thinks he is unbeatable against a martial artist who thinks he is unbeatable. It's a pretty cool sport.

People who watch UFC for "star power" probably prefer intimacy with same sex.
