Ilia beating Paddy does nothing for his career in fact his career will regress

Cain and Cigano, off the top of my head. We talk about Stipe's defense record, but it was split in half by a knockout loss and then he didn't really have any defenses that were awe-inspiring and dominant other than the Ngannou fight.

I don’t know man. Haven’t heard many people arguing this on the dog. Are you trying to say that JDS and Cain had better title runs? Or that they generally beat better competition? They fought a lot of the same people. Stipe came in about 3 years after them both, though. Not sure how Stipe KO’ing everyone wasn’t awe inspiring.

It’s weird to hear some of the gymnastics that go into downplaying Stipe. After his last loss to JDS, he went on a tear and avenged that loss, then went on to smash Werdum who just unseated Cain. Enter the deluge of excuses; sea level Cain, post Cain JDS, guys who weren’t old when they fought Cain and JDS but are now old when they fought Stipe, etc. I have even heard Cain stans argue that UFC Bigfoot 2x is a signature win for Cain. It’s crazy.

Does this mean he is running from Paddy?

Stick to acting Stellan

To be the very best, you shouldn't focus on a fighter like Islam; you should beat the best fighters in your division, and only then can you choose. Ilia wants to win three titles, but only against Islam.

I think they both had better skillsets and slightly better streaks. Even beating each other when they did it is a better accomplishment than what Stipe managed in his reign. Stipe had a 2-1 (arguable 1-2, but that's a thoroughly beaten dead horse) trilogy with DC who is likely better than the guys who they beat. Other than that, you've got Ngannou and I think the version who fought Stipe gets dog-walked even worse against prime Cain. Junior with a chin makes it interesting, but I'm not as confident there.

I don't care so much about how the resume looks on paper.
JDS getting a title shot when he did was a joke and only served to give Stipe a chance to avenge that loss. We knew going in that Junior's chin was shot. We knew that if you backed him to the fence it was done.
Werdum was a solid win, but he was also a historically inconsistent fighter and Stipe rightfully took advantage of that with a beautiful counter.
Also, Bigfoot was an impressive win when Cain did it. Is it more impressive than beating DC? Absolutely not. Mauling Junior when he did was just as, if not more impressive than a come from behind stoppage and a very close fight with a retiring DC.

Not gonna sit here and pick each resume apart as it's all subjective.

There’s a really a double standard on here isnt there, Fedor Emelianenko in his run beat a lot of old fighters who were borderline cans if not flat out cans and beat only 4 notable fighters in Noguiera, Cro Cop, Arlovski and Tim Sylvia. People don’t have trouble claiming him as HW GOAT, let alone GOAT in all the whole MMA, which is laughable to look at nowadays.
Sherdoggers gonna Sherdog. We all have our picks. Fedor had plenty of cans, but so did everyone that fought long enough in that era.

Its the most money Ilia can make in a fight right now. He, like all fighters, fight for money.

Glad I could clear that up for you TS

It's a fight, if promoted properly, can make good money

On meritocracy it’s Arman if Dana thinks he can make 155. Addy will bring so much more eyeballs
