If Tom's nose wasn't bloody then things would have been much better for him

Quality post.

It wont get many replies or reactions because it doesnt feed into the crazy levels of anti-Tom cope from certain posters on here.

It really shows just how dominant Tom looked in all his previous fights, that a very close round in which he actually landed the better power shots and controlled the round with pressure is looked at as a 10-8 for his opponent. Hilarious stuff.

Reminds of a round like Machida vs Jones where Machida landed a few nice shots and got so much praise. Meanwhile Jones still won the round, but people were going nuts for Machida cause he had a few moments landing some nice punches and moved well.

No he wasn't my friend, he was not dictating the fight, Tom was. I would watch the fight again. Tom actually landed the better significant strikes, power shots to the head and power leg kicks. The two most visibly hard strikes were by Tom right before the eye poke where he landed a hard leg kick and nearly spun Gane around and moments later a hard straight right hand.

Gane was doing well early landing his jab to the head and body and some legs kicks and circling well. But after about 2 mins Tom starting advancing more and more and was landing his right hand and leg kicks. Gane stopped landing much after that while Tom advanced more and more. And Tom was not frustrated, there is no indication of that at all.

Gane did land one decent overhand a bit before the eye poke too, but otherwise spot on post. The round was basically even to me and a flurry by either in the last minute would've swung it.

It's a matter of what was happening vs perception. Aspinall a big favorite who finishes everyone early so when Gane fights him even for 4 minutes the perception is "OMG look how amazing Gane is doing!!"
