If Tom's nose wasn't bloody then things would have been much better for him

It was not just the bloody nose. He was getting pieced up bad his mouth open and quit.

He could not impose his will so he was getting flustered and took the opportunity to get out of the fight.

Gane is better than Tom. Only difference is Tom doesn't face the Jones and nganous of the world. Gane does which is why Tom is easy for him.

Gane sucks.
Laid on by Francis.
Finished by Jones.
Eye poker to make his striking seem as good as his footwork. Lousey six knockouts.

Tom is Tom, he isn't the best, has dropped the ball, but also has twelve knockouts.

Do not sit here and claim that singular round proved that Gane is better than Tom.
Gane always was hyped as the best striker in the division, yet ... Had to poke Tom in the eyes just like Jones and many other "elite strikers".

Not even a Tom fan but he's cheated less and has more legit wins than Gane.

Gane got laid on by Francis.

This praising is actually glazing.

Gane fuckin sucks.

I repeat for posterity... Not even a tom fan.
Just acknowledging Tom has DOUBLE the ko's, same number of submission wins, and ZERO decision wins. Gane is better at eye poking and using judges.

That's it.

Couldn't care less who wins, but Gane's had enough title shots to blow it repeatedly.

Tom, has blown his own knee and been eye poked. Everything else has been KO's more or less.

It's a squash. Tom is better at finishing by knockout. Gane is better at prancing around to a decision.
Tom is worse self preservation.
Gane is worse at fighting clean
(better at cheating).

Might as well call me chatGPT at this point.
This stuff is surface level it's not worth arguing.

They both suck...

and Jones is the biggest duck in history.
Ducked Francis, ducked Tom, ducked the lady he drove a car into, ducked Officer Nerd, hell...
Even ducked under the octogon to avoid the drug tester.

Tom didn't duck anyone,
and Gane got multiple chances but still cheats.
<mirkosmile>
Glazed.

If think fighters are used to getting their noses bloodied... but i dunno

Literally happened daily at my gym in sparring. With headgear.

That is interesting. Does Aspinall believe Gane broke his orbital with an eye poke?

"Broke his orbital". The medial wall, which is tiny, extremely brittle bones that absolutely could be fractured even by moderate pressure from an eye poke.

Wanna try again? Guessing you didn't actually know this about the fracture.

Yeh, because it would have been less obvious that he was getting smacked around like a Piniata by Gane.

He usually ends fights under 2 minutes, this went 4:30min, under 15-20 seconds when usually nothing is clear would have been much better for him.

Anyone who knows what they are actually watching, when they are watching MMA, saw how close it was when watching the round back a couple times. This has been established now.

Tom was starting to take control, was doing all the pressing towards the end of the round.

It's ridiculous how some of the critics spin things around in this fight. The comments "Gane was piecing him up" and "Gane was landing the jab busting him up". Anyone who can see and doesn't have some bias against Tom knows this was a pretty even fight and not too much happened. I mean Gane landed like 3 jabs, leg kicks and some jabs to the body. He landed a decent counter right hand early. After 2 mins into the fight Gane landed almost nothing. There wasn't anything significant from either guy and no one was pieceing up the other.

Yeah its truly pathetic and sums up the vast majority of MMA 'fans'.

the problem was he was losing the fight up until that point. even the commentators were like 'omg i've never seen him bloodied before'. Failed TD.

then on top of that Jones beat Gane faster.

A big narrative heading into the fight was Tom had to beat Gane as impressively, if not more so than Jones did. Is that fair? Probably not, but when your whole persona over the last 2 years is "Jones ducked me" you better be able to dispatch of the guy that Jones embarrassed in 2 minutes. That wasn't happening. It was a close round but Gane definitely had the more significant strikes and was dictating the fight. Tom is not a methodical fighter, he blitzes and tries to get you out of there as fast as possible. Gane had the answer to that and Tom was definitely frustrated.

Was he losing the fight?? That's the issue here, you see him bloodied up and Gane land a few clean jabs and that's the perception. If you watch the fight, Tom lands the more meaningful and power strikes and was the one advancing. I saw the fight pretty even, but if I had to score it, I would give the round to Tom at that point.

No he wasn't my friend, he was not dictating the fight, Tom was. I would watch the fight again. Tom actually landed the better significant strikes, power shots to the head and power leg kicks. The two most visibly hard strikes were by Tom right before the eye poke where he landed a hard leg kick and nearly spun Gane around and moments later a hard straight right hand.

Gane was doing well early landing his jab to the head and body and some legs kicks and circling well. But after about 2 mins Tom starting advancing more and more and was landing his right hand and leg kicks. Gane stopped landing much after that while Tom advanced more and more. And Tom was not frustrated, there is no indication of that at all.

Quality post.

It wont get many replies or reactions because it doesnt feed into the crazy levels of anti-Tom cope from certain posters on here.

It really shows just how dominant Tom looked in all his previous fights, that a very close round in which he actually landed the better power shots and controlled the round with pressure is looked at as a 10-8 for his opponent. Hilarious stuff.

Fighters are, but some of the new fans we've been bequeathed are used to first blood matches.
I can see their confusion.

Such as exhibit #1, Gane's jockstrap himself.

"Gane definitely had more significant strikes"

Wow. 3 whole significant strikes. Man, what an absolute molly-whopping.
