If Chimaev beats DDP, will you finally think he's the real deal / legit elite fighter?

I don't think the problem is that the people think he is legit or not, he clearly is, people are worried or have doubts if he can be consistent and have a decent run as champion without injuries, drama or some other BS.

But back to the OPs question, If Khamzat wins I'll still hate him for personally betraying me by missing weight that one time, and on top of that I'll also hate DDP for losing to such a can.

Whats elite? Top 3 in the world? Top 5? In either case he already is elite. He was easily a Top 5 fighter at WW, he is at least Top 3 ( i think its 50/50 he is even Nr.1) at MW and he would also be Top 10 at LHW. The guy is elite even if DDP beats him.

I will always doubt him due to almost retiring because of COVID and pulling out of fights for tummy aches. Plus I've been told Dricus is terrible, so that wouldn't actually be a good win.

I felt like I've been gaslit since Khamzat exploded on the scene and did his 4 fights. Everytime he would step up, people wouldn't say it was enough. Kind of funny looking back at arguing with people that "Neil Magny would pose Khamzat problems" and now we're here. Still, it's been exhausting saying the dude is the real deal and there was a group who never wanted to believe or doubted. Always after a fight they said he needed one more to prove himself. I'm just glad I finally get to see him get a title shot after 5 years of debates.

He’s clearly elite and has showed he has heart and can dig deep from getting hurt which makes him that much scarier.
A guy like Aspinall is all question marks in comparison to khamzat.

I don't think you should, to be honest.

There were a lot of doubts from media and fans about what would happen if someone survived the early onslaught, if he becomes the nail instead of the hammer, if he would wilt if he faced adversity.

He has proved that he can grit down and win a war (Burns), that he can dig deep and get important takedowns (Usman), and he's 2/2 in fights that went the distance.

I agree there haven’t been anyone good yet in any form of combat sports from grappling to mma but hopefully in the next few decades, or centuries they will implement what I would do.
